I received in snail mail today a letter from "Euro Sweepstake Lottery Company S.A" for someone who doesn't live at this address (we just happen to share the same last name) that claimed that he won "USD 615,810.00". It's the same as other scams of this type where they state that the money has been deposited with a security company and insured in his name.

He is supposed to conatact his claims agent "SOTELO ADAMS, the Foreign operations manager of GLOBAL FORTUNE SECURITY S.A. on TEL: 01134 692 874 934, FAX: 01134 626 469 517" by "9th MAY 2006" to claim the prize or the funds will be returned to the "MINISTERIO DE ECONOMIA Y HACIENDA". 10% will go to Global Security. It doesn't say anything about sending the money at the time you claim it.

However, it does ask for date of birth, Bank info, and next of kin info plus the signature on the form. The letter is signed in green ink with the name Dr. Antonio Raul Sanchez and title of Managing Director. It has a raised seal with "Euro Sweepstake Lottery" just to make it look even more official. They've also attempted to do a watermark type grayed out ink in the background of the letter that says "Loterias y Apuestas del Estado".

So, basically, if you see this letter, don't fax back the form!!! It's a fake and fraud and I hope that people can search for this and not send them their info.
