Evalon Merchant Services AKA Merchant Services Fraudulent Charge; impossible to reach customer service Knoxville Tennessee

I signed an agreement with this company in 2002. I signed at rates that averaged about 3.5% per transaction. After selling my business in 2015 and closing out the accounting, I realized that they increased their rates on me without notice!

Noticing that it was too late to do much about it because I had a buyer for my business, it took me about 43 minutes before giving up on reaching customer service to close my account. I sent in a form documented for 9/11/2015 to effectively and immediately close the account. I did not process any more payments with the company.

I did, however, receive a call from a customer care representative from "Merchant Services" asking why I was closing my account. I confirmed I was selling the business and I sent in the notice to close the account in my name. The CSR confirmed that it was closed.

I got my September's statement a few weeks later, and I notice two charges that are dated post-cancellation, on 9/18/15 and 9/30/15 under "Daily Fee Activity". This section of the merchant statement shows exactly how much the fees were associated with that batch's worth of submitted transactions. I understand that.

However, neither of those two days submitted or processed any transactions. I had cancelled the account effective by mail and by neglect 9/11/2015 and was confirmed 9/14/2015. 

Checking my back account and seeing those two unauthorized transactions, I look at my statement once more to try and figure out why I got those charges, I gave it to my former accountant, and we are both clueless. I call customer service and am on a 4 hour wait without any response!

I did my own research on "Merchant Services" at 7300 Chapman Hwy in Knoxville, and found that Evalon is the parent company. I called their customer service and received a similar wait time before giving up. 

This company will increase your rates. This company will scam you. This company will hold your bank account hostage if you ever close or switch. Good luck getting any help with these guys.

My account with them should be closed, and if I get another merchant statement for charges, I plan to sue.
