Expedia's best price guarantee is a scam and they do not honor it. I booked a hotel without relizing I hadn't logged in to my account. I paid for it and got my confirmation. I then found it cheaper on (((competitors name REDACTED))) .com and filled out the best price guarantee form with Expedia only to be told they don't honor it if you use a guest account.

I explained that their site doesn't say that is a requirement and that they needed to honor their guarantee. They replied and told me they were sorry I had a bad experience and that they couldn't please everyone.

Then when I tried to access my itinerary so I could cancel my booking it was no longer even available. Which is pretty bad since I could access it before I asked them to honor their best price guarantee which is apparently a scam and they must not like people calling them on it.

Expedia's Best Price Guarantee is a scam and they either need to disclose all of the terms and conditions or honor it the way it's presented on their site.

From their own site:

We're so confident you'll find the best price for your trip here on Expedia that we guarantee it. Find a cheaper flight, hotel, vacation package, rental car, or activity within 24 hours of booking. We'll refund the difference and give you a travel coupon worth $50.

Do you qualify?
Did you book within 24 hours?
Are travel dates the same?
Is the site where you found the lower price in English?
Is the lower price in U.S. dollars?
Is the hotel, room type and rate plan and cancellation policy the same?
Is the airline, class, fare and cancellation policy the same?
Does each part of your package match?
Are the activity details the same?

If everything matches grab your itinerary and get started.
I did and they reneged on the the deal.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
