I was blind sided by Experian. I fell for the oldest trick in the book without realizing it. Experian advertises FREE CREDIT REPORT then after getting all your information it requests a credit card number "which will not be used unless blah blah..."

After they get your number, you'll be allowed to see your report but what they don't mention is that they're automatically enrolling you in a plan and you have seven days to cancel otherwise they'll begin sucking $14.95 per month from your bank account for as long as you dose in your chair unaware of what's going on.

Another cute part of the scam includes prompting you to use a username and password to "occasionally check out your credit report" - yea right! Try doing that before seven days and you'll see you can't get in. Each time you attempt to sign in, a red lettered message will tell you it doesn't recognize you. Cute eh?

Experian has it planned in such a way that no matter what you do, short of appearing in person at corporate headquarters, nada, silch will work. You'll receive a rude awakening when you get your bank statement.

It's amazing how they can get away with wanton robbery. The only difference between Experian and thugs on the street is the thugs are on the street, Experian hides out in the internet.

The reason they got me is because last year I did the same thing online with no charge whatsover. I guess Experian had a full year to figure out a way around the "Free credit report every year" thing. I was lucky, I often check my bank statement on the internet and caught the charge pending. I immediately filed a complaint with the FTC and the bank. Check out the FTC site and you'll see the scam is an ongoing thing.

Free Credit Report

AUTHOR: Former Experian Employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Steve,

If you check the freecreditreport.com website, it clearly displays the pricing and the agreement that you are signing up for their membership. Right underneath that, it shows that the website to order you one free credit report that is allowed to you by law is annualcreditreport.com. That website will not charge you anything unless you decide to add ancillary products.

Hope this helps

AUTHOR: Charles - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 08, 2008

The credit industry has found ways to screw us consumers. This credit score thing Is a farce Its a way to screw us out of a car or home.

Who has perfect credit these days anyways. My credit score Is 680 but that Is still bad.

They find ways to to give you credit too many inquries Is one of them. The credit people love that we don't have a credit score above 700 they want us to be In the pits.

They find was to screw our credit up the truth Is, they don't want us to save money they want to charge higher interest just cause some people have bad credit.

Well sometimes Its not peoples fault we have bad credit. We have car accidents which cause us to lose our jobs things that are beyond our control, we end up losing our vehicle, homes & everything.

like the previous person said, go to the annualcreditreport.com website to get the free federal one that everyone is entitled to. Now if you live in a certain state you are entitled to one or more additional ones. Check here....

free credit report

AUTHOR: Fairmaidenvoyage - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 20, 2008

You can actually go to www.annualcreditreport.com and pull a copy of all three credit bureaus once a year. Just so you know alot of loan approvers dont pay attention to your score. Theres more to your credit report than that. How do I know. I am a loan officer and I look at the score as a last result..
