Website comes up for FREE credit report, and I was under the impression that I am entitled to one each year. Small print on first page with big arrow button directing to credit report for a dollar. OK, a dollar. But if you authorize the dollar, you have automatically "agreed" to a recurring monthly charge, in my case, 21.95. Okay, shame on me, but with Experian being such a monster company I really wasn't expecting anything this slimy. I called them of course, and got nowhere. I got the impression that they get LOTS of these calls as they seemed pretty well rehearsed. My fault in the end for assuming they would be ethical.

Report it to BBB

AUTHOR: Justin - (USA)

I have had a problem lately with the same type of thing, started for a dollar end of the week - called to cancel - they offered me another week for a dollar since I was so close to deadline I agreed. Then I get the two $1.00 charges, a pending charge for $21.95 and a pending charge for $29.95. Until last night I couldn't find a working phone number that would allow him to speak with anyone, they were closed. So I called this morning got it cancelled but charges would go through.

I looked at the experian report once and get charged $53.90 - pretty good racket for them. I came on to RippOff Reports hoping to find out more information. I have found MANY complaints for the same thing and no replies from (or very, very few) responses from Experian. Well if you go to the BBB site and file a complaint THEY HAVE TO ANSWER IF THEY WANT TO KEEP THEIR A+ rating. I truly LOVE RipOff Reports but without a response from the company it isn't doing these consumers any good. GO TO BBB TO BE HEARD!!!!!
