I know for a fact I specifically paid for only one credit report.  10 months later I find out they've been charging me 21.95/month.  I. Had. No. Idea.  I'm not some flake that has all kinds of monthly bills, either.  I demanded to see in writing what I agreed to.

Typical irresponsible response...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, February 28, 2016

Oh yes the typical "I don't like you pointing out how I was wrong and have nothing to say in my defense so I am just going to call you an employee." response.

Well sorry to tell you but that is pretty much Standard Operating Procedure, but the only thing it ends up doing is showing how immature and wrong you actually are.  I personally think I have been accused of working for a few dozen companies, and just like I don't work for those, I do not now or have I ever worked for this company.

I meant to say I had no idea how they managed this.   They and I both know I used it for the trial period only.  There's some sort of trick with the software or something,

- Well let me help you out here.  First of all the only "trick" is your failure to read what you were agreeing to.  As even though I don't know the exact site you went to.  I can guarantee you that on that site there was something on that page that stated by entering your information and continuing you were agreeing to signing up for a monthly membership.

So in reality the only thing they "know" is that you entered your debit card number, and clicked a button or checkbox that said you read and agreed to the terms of signing up for a monthly membership where they would withdraw $21.95 a month for the membership.

Yes, I am guilty of not checking my transactions regularly, though I do check them.

- Well I will give you that, you check them apparently once every 10 months.

One reason I hadn't seen this transaction is because I wasn't looking for it.  There are many debit transactions, as this is my debit card account.

- So what you have basically admited too is that if I got a hold of your Debit card number, I could put through a small debit of $10-$20 and because you aren't "looking for it", you would go several months before you noticed it.  Not that I ever would, but what about real thieves?  The fact is that the "well it is my debit card" is NO excuse.  You should be keeping a written register of EVERYTHING you purchase on the card.  Then when your monthly statement comes in(either by mail or e-mail) you reconcile that statement with your written register.  Any transaction that is not in your written register but on your statement needs to be researched and reported as a fradulent transaction.  Had you done that first month you could have found it and contacted the company to stop the debits and dispute it to possibly get it refunded.

Yes, this will take you an extra few minutes but this is YOUR money and YOUR responsiblity.  If you want someone else to properly manage your accounts there are many accountants out there who will be glad to provide this service for the bargin price of only a few hundred dollars a month.

In the end, the only "RipOff" here is the one you caused.  And I would have(and have) said the same thing with many other companies.

So some advice that works anytime you are entering your card number on the Internet or purchasing something.

1) Actually read and fully understand what they are agreeing to BEFORE they enter their credit card number.  Where as a side item on this, realize that there is never any such thing as getting something for free.

2) Keep a WRITTEN register of everything they use the card for and reconcile their accounts on a monthly basis when they get their statement.

If people did those two things, 99.99999% of these type of reports would never even need to be posted.

Partly true, but....

My report is incomplete.  Was a little shocked, angry to say the least, finding this out.

I meant to say I had no idea how they managed this.   They and I both know I used it for the trial period only.  There's some sort of trick with the software or something, I don't know because they won't provide any details--emails, transactions, history of any kind.

Yes, I am guilty of not checking my transactions regularly, though I do check them.  One reason I hadn't seen this transaction is because I wasn't looking for it.  There are many debit transactions, as this is my debit card account.

What i'm going to now look into is why they won't send any proof whatsoever, any explanation as to how this happened, as it no doubt happens all the time.  Since they won't provide me with any sort of record, I'm left saying that I made d**n sure, best I could tell, to sign up only for the trial period.

For someone to conclude "this report must be false" based on what I wrote, and what little Experian will allow me to know, well, I'm concluding THEY MUST BE an employee.

You have to be joking...

This has to be a totally fake report.  Because for you to come out and say you are not some flake yet claim that you had no idea you were being charged is really contradictory of each other.

So I will keep this short.  You in fact were told every month they were taking this money.  You would know this by looking at your checking/credit card statement showing the charge/debit.   So this would be a failure in your proper account management to balance and reconcile your accounts.
