We have taken our 1988 GMC Safari for routine maintenance at ExpertTire several times for oil changes and for problems we have had with the van. It seemed as though anytime we had a problem with the van and we were given an estimate as to the price it would be there always would be something else they'd find "wrong" with it after the fact that would drive the price up about 2 times what they originally said it would be. The only reason we kept using them is because their parts that they put on were supposedly under lifetime warranty and we wanted to take advantage of the warranty.

One time after having repairs done we had a huge part fly off the van and into the middle of a busy street where we were unable to retrieve it until a car ran over it and sent it bouncing back towards where we had stopped in the parking lot.

We immediately took the van back to ExpertTire and asked that they put this part back on. (We had only made it across the street before this part fell off) They did put the part back on but we've had several other problems with them as well. We had to have all the power steering parts replaced which cost us nearly $1000 and then when the van kept making a grinding noise even after their "experts" supposedly replaced all the parts, we took it back out there to tell them it still made a grinding noise when turning and had to sit in the waiting room over an hour while they got to other cars first, put tires on other cars (cars and trucks that need new tires also seem to take priority over the people that just spent nearly $1000 for repairs.)

Then we saw them pull the van into the garage and they ran it for about 20 minutes, the whole time we heard the grinding and then we were called out there to be told that the power steering looked fine and he turned the wheel to show there was no grinding and then it was only the next day after when it started the grinding again. We've had to consistently put power steering fluid in this van that's supposed to have all new power steering parts.

If that isn't frustrating enough, after all this we heard a banging sound and so we again took it back out to ExpertTire because my wife said that while driving that it was hard to turn again and so we figured they'd have to live up to their "lifetime warranty" but then we were told that the part was a bracket that broke that holds the power steering parts and that it wasn't under warranty and it would be another $600.00 but "it should be fine after that" so we had that part replaced under protest. (We figured it should be covered in the warranty)

Even after having that part replaced our van still constantly needs to have us add power steering fluid to it but when you take it out to them to get them to fulfil the warranty it seems as though they always find an excuse not to. We then figured we had no choice but to live with having to constantly add power steering fluid but then the van started sputtering when idle so we took it back out to ExpertTire and were told the problem was bad spark plug wires.

We had them do a complete vehicle inspection (that cost us $60.00) and they said everything else on the van was good. I had asked how much it would cost to replace the spark plug wires ahead of time and was told $39.95 and I asked three times if that included labor and was told it did but they ended up charing us about $200.00 total for replacing the spark plug wires.

After we picked up the van, we noticed it was still sputtering so we took it back out there to be told it was because of a "bad exhaust valve" and that cost us $500.00 and after picking up the van we realized immediately that they again had a part that they didn't put back on right, a huge part that was loose that shouldn't have been loose so we took it back out there to be told that the part was a catalytic converter shield and that it wasn't anything they did and that maybe we hit a bump or something.

I explained to this guy, Derek who was insisting on debating with me that the part was not loose to begin with, we never had a problem with it before and that we noticed it was like that immediately after we picked it up. He kept debating and saying it wasn't anything they did and wanted to know what I wanted them to do. I told them we spent lots of money on this van there and that I wanted it fixed right and then he said "we can fix it but it's going to cost you" I then explained to him about how this isn't the first time a part has been loose after we picked up the van and he again reiterates, "we can fix it but it's going to cost you" I then asked to speak to the manager and he said "speaking" but I know Derek isn't the manager and that a guy named Bobby is the manager.

I also complained to this company's website on the very day all this trouble happened but never received a response. We ended up having to have them take this catalytic converter shield off the van because they gave us no other option except paying more money which we weren't going to do, we've already given them thousands of dollars over the times we have taken it in and they always seem to mess things up so now we're driving this van without a catalytic converter shield and worrying about if they knew what they were doing as far as taking this part off or if our catalytic converter is one day going to go bouncing down the street.

This business is a bunch of frauds and even if you want something simple done like having tires put on your car, I suggest even if ExpertTire is the most convenient place to where you are that you use a little bit more gas and drive further to one of their competitors, I'm sure you'd be better off that way in the end.
