EXTRA SPACE STORAGE I was a victim theft due to Extraspace storage lack of security Mt Vernon New York

My storage unit was robbed and I could not recover my damages due to Extra Space Storage lack of security.The circumstances are as follows.On or about july 15 2006 at about 6pm I went to get some tools out of my unit with a friend,upon aproaching the unit I saw that my lock was pryed open and still on the hasp I immediatly went over to the mgr and informed her at which point she claimed no knowledge of this apparent vandalism we then proceeded to open the door and I immediatly noticed my tools missing. The Mgr was very nonchelant.and said she had people in her office and left. After assesing the situacion I decided to call the Police who took a verbal report.From myself as well as the Mgr she stated that there are no security cameras overlooking my unit [which happens to be outside] and that the only camera is the one facing the entrance/exits .She also stated that the security gates are left open 24 hrs per day because the residents complain of noise from them opening and closing.When I asked why the lights above my unit were out she did not know anything until I showed her fotos of all the lights being out on the side where mine as well as other units were. To this day they are still out. to backtrack she was unable to provide security footage unless She knew when it happened. I am now out over 7,500.00 with no offer of compensation from extraspace storage. Stay Away From Extra Space Mt Vernon
