I recently bought a timeshare from Fairfield Resorts in Las Vegas, and I have not received a penny of what I paid for since I began my membership! First of all, the sales offered me discounts on airfare for Fairfield Gold members, as well as free vacation packages. None of those existed.

Also, I received so many "offers" from telemarketers. One of them offered me a stay at the all-new Bonnet Creek hotel in Orlando. Because I was interested in the new hotel, I purchased the offer.

Later, when I went to confirm my reservation, Bonnet Creek was conveniently not one of the choices. In fact, it was never an option from the beginning! It's not like I even asked for that hotel in the first place... the sales rep called ME and offered it first! So on my vacation to Orlando, I had to purchase my own hotel accomodations separately! What an outrage!

The availability of Fairfield's timeshares is ridiculous! I would love to find out about a class action lawsuit.

Employees represent companies.

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 04, 2006

Tim, Employees represent companies and those companies are reponsible to train and prepare their employees, and they should be held to the promises of the employees for any contractual items. It is not up to the public to police these companies, we pay the gov. agencies to do that. The courts and regulatory agencies should be stepping in to stop these rip off companies who have excessive complaints against them. There is only so much home work we the public can do, especially when in the middle of getting ripped off. But yes we need to complain more to the regualtory agencies.

My wife and I own two timeshare condo units on two different Hawaiian Islands. We are VIP Gold members and bought our first unit on 12/27/2004 and another on 10/21/2005. We received all of the items promised and the free trips too. They are very well maintained units so far. We are going to Orlando on March 31, 2006. I will let you know how it turns out. Everyone knows that Florida and tropical climates have roaches and big crawling bugs. That's just like we live in Michigan and have snow. Sometimes you get caught up in the moment when the salespeople are telling you everything that you want to hear. Next time, do your homework and know that if someone offers you a "free" trip, that someone is paying for it. We are very happy with Fairfield Resorts and recommend them to our friends as a class "A" operation. But they are only as good as the people that they hire to represent them.

AUTHOR: Alice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2006

contact your state representatives, state attorney generals office, florida attorney generals office and the better business bureau. all of the complaint forms are online and can be filled out online. how else is the general population going to know. make a request to your legistlators that you would like to see the contract rescision changed from 3 - 10 days cancellation to 6 months to 1 year right to cancel.

thanks

Cory, What's your point

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2006

Cory I don't understand where you are coming from. People buy things based on promises and lies they are being told. You can't expect eveyone to know all the crooks out there. Some of us may be gullible, but we don't get ripped off on every thing. Every now and then an industry like this one comes up and is able to lie it's way to a lot of peoples pockets before it is shut down. Yes we should have said no and will in the future, but don't expect that we will know that before being burnt by these scams. I'm sure you have been scammed in your life like we all have. Yes we will say no next time. Let's just hope this industry is shut down soon.

these "pitches" are scams and are just going to take your money and not deliver?

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 13, 2005

How many times is it going to take for you to get burnt before get wise to the fact that these "pitches" are scams and are just going to take your money and not deliver? I mean really. Three, four, five times? "I recently bought a timeshare from fairfield resorts....and have not recieved a penny of what I paid for". "None of those existed". "I received so many offers...I purchased the offer". "Later when I went to confirm my reservation, Bonnet Creek was conveniently not one of the choices". "It's not like I even asked for the hotel...the rep called me and offered it first". Here's a thought. JUST SAY NO. Better yet don't answer the phone.
