Family Dollar Ripoff non-family dollar Charlotte North Carolina

Been working at FD now for a wopping ten months and the abuse is not only obvious but outragous. Same old story, to much work, not enough payroll. Family Dollar continues to build new distrabution centers, 5 MILLION sq. feet at the new ones (heard from a truck driver they're planning another in Cal.) yet this company has the notion that the tiny warehouses they allow us in each store is adequate space to store the tons of fright they send each week. When will they allow their managers to be managers? NO ONE knows what sells and what doesn't better than the store manager, especially retek, yet the fright keeps coming. So much for the famous Door to shelf policy!!

Would it not make more sense to allow a manager to do his or her job, one of which is to order their own store. Would'nt most of us accept,(if we were allowed to order our own store) that if our outs are constantly to high that just maybe we aren't doing our job? But then again, how is anyone to gauge this when, atleast in our case, ordering seems to be no more than a waste of time. Volume is down this time of year yet the know it all DM says "ORDER HEAVY". Yah, right... surrrrre. I took on the job to run the store, not the other way around. We need to take a stand and HOLD ON TO that position. Put stops on things weekly, stand up to your DM, do your 52 and NO MORE, expect to be treated like a "real" human being and accept nothing less! And this last part is for Lance, from what I heard, you were one of those that did just what I outlined and no longer work at FD, to bad because you were one of the few that was slowly making a difference. BB says he let you go because you would not or could not conform to "Family Dollar policy" well it's people like you that stand up and let it be known that we are not animals. People give their life and souls to this company only to end up in the Family Dollar toilet.

People, do not be pushed around, do your job and expect respect for your efforts in return and accept nothing less!
