I went to Family Hyundai because of something I received in the mail called: Lower your payments. After going there with my Mitsubishi I was told by the salesman that my best option would be to voluntarily surrender my vehicle to the bank where it was financed and tell them I couldn't afford the payments. He told me I would then be free and clear of the car. He even offered to return it to the place I purchased it if needed. He then took me for a test drive in a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GS. I liked the car and asked how much it was. He said I needed to discuss that with the financial advisor. Once I met with the financial advisor he told me the price was 22,895 which I questioned. He then asked if I would like to speak to the manager and I said yes. The manager came in, his name is Tommy Popular and assured me it was a 23,000 vehicle. The whole reason I came here was to lower my current car payment which was 449.00
I started to price the 2007 Tiburon GT's which are 6 cyclinders where mine is the 4 cyclinder. Come to find out they overcharged me by 3,000 on my GS.

When I called to complain and asked how could they over charge me after I verified the price with the manager they're answer was: We did nothing illegal. People paid over sticker price for the PT Cruiser. How can they compare a new PT Cruiser when it first came out to a Tiburon thats been around for years? The only reason people over paid for the Cruiser is because it was new and everybody wanted one. So I now have a vehicle I paid too much for and am currently still paying on the Mitsubishi the bank picked up and sold at an auction.

What the salesman failed to tell me was that I would be liable for the balance of the loan after the auction. I was lied to and cheated and have never experienced anything like this before in my life. I e-mailed the general manager and explained what had happened. It sent it to Bob Ross who I spoke with twice. When he asked what would make me happy I said to be reimbursed for the 3,000. He said they weren't able to do that but they would try to get me out of the vehicle. That was a week an a half ago. Twice he promised to call back and didn't. I don't see how it can be legal to lie to a customer about the price of the vehicle. I will never do business with this company ever again. I showed the paperwork to two different Hyundai dealers and all they could do was shake their heads and told me I needed to go back where I purchased the vehicle and ask why was I charged so much. Nobody at Family Hyundai has been able to give me an explanation. Not the way to treat a customer.
