I was on the phone with a friend, when i suddenly received a call on the other line. The caller I.D read "Family Readers Service", so I let my friend go and picked up the line. I even started out skeptical of the whole conversation until they mentioned the diamond watch and that i would be subscribing to a magazine service; so i wouldn't have to go about ordering separate magazine subscriptions.

I thought to myself this would be great for the price and i would have a lot more reading material. I was told that I had to pay by credit card a price of $42 dollars a month and since I've used my debit card for all of my services I guessed I might as well use it for this one too. Plus i knew, like a normal subscription service, I could cancel my subscription if I was not pleased. I read the shiny numbers off the front of my card , listened to some kind of contract recording that i did not understand, and agreed for obligation to the payments.

They have explained to me twice now that i cannot cancel due to the fact i have agreed with the recorded voice, and did i mention they have my voice recorded agreeing to the recorded voice. I'm sorry but the playback of that contract and me agreeing to it does not sound that familiar. I remember doing it but the contract sounds a little different. I wasn't told they that they would be pre-paying for all of my magazine subscriptions, meaning they paid several months in advance for the magazines i would be receiving for the next few months. Totaling somewhere between 700 to 800 dollars. After the first two calls i found out that i could pay a cancellation fee of $130, but to tell you the truth i don't want to pay it because this is not what i thought it was. It is a scam to make you pay for more than you bargained for and i still haven't gotten my godforsaken diamond watch. I've been so infuriated that they have been calling and harassing me everyday wanting me to pay them money that i worked hard for to feed and clothe myself. I've thought of canceling my card but i don't know if i there will be repercussions.
Any assistance with this case would be greatly appreciated.
