Famous Footwear Deceptive practices regarding returns Great Falls Montana
I purchase three pairs of shoes during the BOGO half-off promotion and ended up returning two pair. The pair I kept was the half-off pair. When I returned the other two pairs, they rang up all three pair as returned (even though I had kept one pair and they were at home). Then the store rang up the non-returned pair as a new purchase at full price, because I was told I no longer had a qualifying pair for the half-off pair.
Since I had made the original purchases partly with a gift card, I was told they had to issue that part of the refund back on a gift card.
The problem arose when they refused to allow me to use the gift card I received during this return to "repurchase" the shoes I had a home that Famous Footwear now charged to my credit card at full price.
The store argued that the transaction was not technically a purchase even though the half-price shoes were rung up as a purchase at full price.
I will NEVER again shop at Famous Footwear. It is deceptive to not allow a person to use a gift card to pay the difference between the promotional price and the full price when they make the person repurchase the shoes at full price.
