I donated blood a two months ago in west central Florida and received a  ('redemption card'): "Redeem Your Free Movie Ticket Online- Fandango..."

I tried on-line on three different occasions (7-30-13,  8-12-13 and 8-14-15) for two different movies to redeem it for a ticket. The movies, Despicable Me 2 and Planes (first-run and popular kids'  movies) via their online program. All failed. Here's the details:

All times I followed the instructions as printed on the redemption card. I opted not to enroll in their system- I already have too many sites and passwords to remember, so I used the "guest" mode. Note that the card says it covers a value up to $12.50. On 8-7-13, it told me a matinee ticket to a local theater the next day for "Dispicable Me 2" was 'unavailable.' I took my grandchild anyway (7-31-13) and there were no more than 20 people in the entire theater (Regal)! By the way, the adult cost for that matinee was just $4.50!

Two weeks later I tried to redeem it at the same theater for the new kids' movie "Planes." Despite the matinee ticket again costing far less than the max allowed by Fandango, this time the system required my credit card data before proceeding! THEN, I used their internal email service and asked them: WHY? (i.e.- why is my credit card data needed?) Their first response was (this knocked my socks off!)- "add more details, and if you don't respond within 24 hours we will cancel your submission." Well, I DID respond within 24 hours and asked them that question again. Their second response was- NO RESPONSE! I took my grandchild anyway, and guess what? Yes! Like the first movie (7-31) the theater was nearly empty of patrons!

[Moral to the story- If you donate blood, give the techs back the Fandango ticket and tell them it's WORTHLESS!]
