I had an auto insurance policy with Bob Babigan Insurance company of 5900 100th S.W., Lakewood, Washington.

When I began this policy I was told provided I recieved no tickets or accidents within a years time I would qualify for lower premiums. Fair enough.

On the 11th month of the policy I was sent a 3x5 mailing card from the wife of Bob Babigan who works in the office.

It stated on the card that the policy was set to expire soon and that for $100.00 she could "reveiw the policy and find the lowest rate".

There were no accidents or tickets within that year.

I paid the $100.00. (Like a fool).

(Come to think of it I have never heard of an insurance company doing this).

When the new policy was drawn up the insurance premiums were now $50.00 HIGHER each month than before not to mention that I paid $100.00 for these higher premiums.

The agreement was that if there were no tickets and no accidents the premiums after one year would be lower, i.e. "good driver discount"

I dropped that policy immediatly when I found this out that I would be paying even more for being a "good driver".

There was one month left on the policy.

I told them to cancel immediately.

They didnt.

They billed me for that month then turned around and submitted that to a collection agency where I was hounded by bill collectors for that one month of non payment of which they said "you were covered".

I seriously doubt that statement.

Should I have got in a wreck on that 11th. month they would turn around and say, "you werent covered"

This is a total fraud and coersive tactic to force people out of money.

This is shitty business practice and I will say this.

Did you think I would stick around after pulling this stunt? You lost a long term customer, you did it to yourselves.

Never again will I use Farmers Insurance and I will tell everyone I know the same, especially Babigans of Lakewood, Wash.

There is nothing that spreads faster than a bad word of mouth about a business."

Your accusation is untrue

AUTHOR: Liz - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 30, 2007

Dear Mike, David or whoever you really are,

Your accusations are totally untrue and in fact quite scurrilous and frankly slanderous.

1. The only 3x5 cards which go out of this office are preprinted by Farmers Insurance and a card such as the one described does not exist. Also, I do not send out cards referring to renewal reviews.

2. I have never in my life signed anything "Liz Babigan".

3. Where is your copy of cancelled check?

4. How convenient that you say you returned the alleged card and so now cannot produce it.

5. If you are convinced of your delusions, why haven't you contacted me/us personally instead of using anonymity to sling bombs? I would be more than happy to discuss this with you at any time. The door is open.

This is the first and only time I have ever in my life or in any field of my life had my integrity impugned. And all by someone out there who is does not have even the integrity to identify themselves. Unfortunately, it is easy to make unsubstantiated accusations through such a forum as this since you don't have to identify yourself in order to try to unfairly hurt others.

If you are not prepared to repsond personally (who you are), I will be researching our accounts to find that information and find any legal remedy against you. The door is open, we're available, bring it!

Sincerely,
E.A. Babigan

Capt. Josh

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 30, 2007

Josh,

What exactly is it that you want to do to me Capt. Josh?

Lakewood is a military town. So before you pull rank and start calling people out with your physical threats you might want to think first about consequences to your career.

"Now I have no information regarding your specific case"

Thats right Josh, you dont.

You dont know that I have absolutely no tickets or accidents in over 27 years either do ya Josh? Even while that policy was in effect.

I have been driving longer than you are old.

But you make that assumption because you have first hand knowledge of liars dont ya Josh, because you seen them come into the office by the hundreds.

I have every right Josh to question the whereabouts of $100.00 that went missing and derrogatory remarks on my credit because of something out of my control. Im not trying to bilk anybody for anything.

Funds addressed in the name of Babigans, not Farmers that neither was applied to the last month of the first policy set to expire in one month nor to the renewal of the second.

It was hand delivered to the mail slot through the office door.

Now if it wasnt applied to the first policy and neither the second then Josh tell me where did it go?

Why was I even asked on a 3x5 card for 100.00 to draw up the new policy? Ive never been asked for this by an insurance company for a second policy term continuation.

But you dont turn around and stick me to a collection agency for that last month and neither apply that money to first policy, (last month) or the new policy (down payment) or bother to return the money because I decided to cancel because the rates were going to be even higher FOR NO REASON.

It was my right to cancel Josh and that does not make me a liar for doing so.

I had a right to the refund of the $100.00 at that time and that doesnt make me a liar.

I dont want the money back Josh. Its irrelevant at this point.

This is all I have to say on this matter. It is over.

Mike.

Bob Babigan, Farmers insurance.

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 29, 2007

Bob and Liz,

I have not lied one iota in what I stated in this complaint.

I have no reason to concoct a story against you. They are truthful facts.

That 3x5 card came signed by Liz Babigan.
The payment was to be made to Babigan insurance not farmers.

As far as being a "dead beat", why should I continue a policy when after I paid the $100.00 you turn around and gave me a renewal policy that is $50.00 higher each month in premiums with a flawless driving record?

This came in my mail the 11th. month/second week in the policy renewal.

I think anyone would do the same. Cancel the policy.

I will agree with one thing. I was an idiot for paying it. Fair enough?

Now I would have liked to known ahead of time before I paid that $100.00 to decide what to do if the rates were to be higher. If I had no tickects, no accidents then wouldnt a person expect lower rates?

The 3x5 was sent back to you stapled to the funds so you would know what that $100.00 was for.

I dropped that in the slot box of the door of your business, so you did recieve it.

Now if you are denying that you dont send out 3x5s with a $100.oo request to find and locate the best rates then wouldnt you have returned the funds if it was a mistake?

It was no mistake. It was a request of $100.00 to find "the best rate". Those were your own words on the card and it was signed Liz Babigan.

"Dear Mike,

As you know your policy will expire next month. For $100.00 I can find you the best rates available based on your driving record"

"Please contact me if you have any questions"

Liz Babigan.

Liz, Why would I just pull a story like this out of thin air? I have no reason to concoct stories.

I sent the $100.00 so you could locate the best rates based on my clean 11 months of no tickets, no accidents. $50.00 higher each month is not what I expected and paying for that is why I wrote this complaint.

Now for both you and Farmers to turn around and submit that last month, the 12th. month to collections is wrong because I told you over the phone having recieved the new policy and seeing the higher rates and paying $100.00 for it that I was cancelling.

You kept the policy intact for the last month and submitted it to collections.

Now tell me what the $100.00 was used for. Was that to locate the "best rate" or was that used for a down on the new policy? If it was used as a down on a new policy there were no policy papers sent to me.

I know I didnt misuderstand what was written on that card.

Now if you got the $100.00, which you did, because I hand delivered it to the mail slot of the door in the evening then why was the last, 12th month not covered?

So dont call me a dead beat.

That money went in your pocket and I was sent to collections for that last month of non-payment and since you knew I was going to bail, you stuck me with it.

You kept the $100.oo and didnt apply it to the 12th. month. Why? because that was your locator fee for the new policy.

So my loss was:

$100.00 (fee to locate lowest rate/start new policy.

$232.00 of non-payment for month #12. Sent to collections.

I never even started that new policy and I told you on the 11th month of the prior policy that I was cancelling.

Where did the $100.00 go? That $100.00 was signed to Babigan insurance. NOT Farmers as were the premium payments. Those funds were cashed by you. Not Farmers.

You kept the $100.oo and stuck me with the FULL amount of the last month which I told you to cancel ahead of time.

Now once again. If it was a mistake why didnt you return that $100.oo? In other words if you are saying you didnt send that 3x5 and I returned it with $100.oo then where did it go if I hand delivered it to the mail slot in the door of your office?

I will tell you where it went. You cashed it and put the money in your pocket. It was in your name.
It sure didnt come back to me saying "this is a mistake", or "this money is not being applied".

Mike, The Liar

AUTHOR: Joshua - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 29, 2007

Mike - I just happened to come across this slanderous e-mail that you wrote about my parents and their business. Now I have no information regarding your specific case, but generally speaking, I am sure that you failed to tell them, during the quote process that you had a ticket, (or a number of them) or an accident within the last 3 years. You state "within a years time" in your comment. This is incorrect, because I have witnessed first hand, hundreds of times while sitting in their office the question both my mother and father ask is: "Have you received any tickes or had any accidents within the last three years?"

This lie that you willfilly told, will drive your rates higher once the corperate folks review your information. This occurrs because the corperate side insurance underwriters then pull a Motor Vehicle Report on you and that lets them know if you have been honest and forthcoming in your claim to be ticket/accident free. Since you appearantly lied to my parents regarding this information, they had no other recourse than to either ask you to pay the increased rates or drop you all together.

Now I will clearly state that I AM NOT associated with their agency or the insurance industry. However, your flagrant and outright slanderous comments can be used against you, which I will happily do...

You sir, have absolutely no right to slander my parents or their business, especially on a national forum such as this. You were caught in a lie, and like most that lack honor and integrity, you attempt to push the blame upon someone other than yourself. You are the liar here sir and at anytime you want to confront me about this is up to you. I just think that you are too chicken-s**t to do much of anything but sit and hide behind your computer and attempt to make false claims. When you attack my family, you attack me, and for that I am ready and perfectly able to shut you and your slanderous nature down. People like you are ones that can not seek or take responsibility for their actions. You are just attempting to do something and get away with it because you know that you are fundamentally wrong.

Respectfully,
Josh Babigan

This has got to be a joke; Mike is alleging he received from us a card requesting a $100.00 review fee, that's with all the insurance search engines on the net and 25 Yellow Pages jammed with insurance agents and offices spread throughout Lakewood and Tacoma, Wa. Then he said he paid it, is he mental patient?

Proof of this accusation should be easy; all he has to do is provide a front and back copy of the cancelled $100.00 check and how about a copy of the 3x5 card? He has accused me of this activity with no proof. I don't know who Mike is but I know what he is; he is a liar and a deadbeat and of that I have proof, why else would Farmers Insurance forwarded his file to collections.

I sincerely hope he finds occasion to call me, I would so much like to talk with him about this and other potential legal matters 253-582-5355.

I don't know about Farmers......

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 13, 2007

but with Allstate, your insurance payment is pro-rated. Bare with me as I try to explain this correctly.
So, in saying that, you would be covered after a certain amount of time has elapsed even though you told them to cancel and they didn't refund any monies.
That's how I see it. I could be totally wrong.
