My car was hit by another driver. No I was not in my car. Yes it was parked in a parking lot. I believe the girl that hit me would have tried to drive off except that her car was lodged into mine.

I was in a meeting when a friend of mine came in to notify me that my car was hit. I headed out to the parking lot. Luckily the cops were already there and there had been many witnesses. Unfortunantly her insurance company was Farmers.

They didn't want to pay me. I couldn't believe it. She did $5000 dollars worth of damage to my car and offered me nothing. (I had gotten 3 different estimates on my car and the lowest was $5000.)It was clearly her fault. They gave no excuse, they just didn't offer me anything.

I made numereous phone calls. They kept telling me that they were recording all of our conversations. They still wouldn't work with me. Just kept asking me information about the accident.

So I went to a lawyer. He told me that he could get the $5000 but he would take most of it. So the small claims court is where I went. Unfortunantly, Missouri law only lets me sue for $3000.

They sent two lawyers. I stood there by myself. They judged looked at my case, laughed at Farmers, and ruled in my favor. I got my $3000.

They point of all this? Farmers Insurance is a horrable company. They are crooks. They care nothing about people, only money. Do not give them your business. Pray to God that if you get in an accident, they are not involved.

If you are reading this, I can only guess that you too are having problems with the crooks. All I can say is that I wish you the best of luck.

Playing tag with Farmers

AUTHOR: Fred - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 04, 2010

My wifes car was hit in a walmart parking lot May 30th , 2010.  A gal backed out of a slot and ran her truck into my wifes car.  No police report, no witnesses.  They swapped some info.  Now we are playing tag with Farmers trying to get them to talk to us and file a claim.  Its been 6 days.  Guess Farmers is a unprofessional company. Caved in both passenger doors.

Farmers Insurance may not be at fault

AUTHOR: mmanapat - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, April 30, 2010

This sounds like a horrible experience, although some of the details are missing as your report does not include the actual insured persons account or information. This is 3rd party perspective and does not specify what kind of coverage the insured had at the time. I have been a long time customer of Farmers Insurance and have found them to be a great company. I was in a car accident in a 2yr old 320 Mercedes where a minimally insured person was at fault. The deployment of the airbags alone would cost $25,000 to replace and the other drivers insurance only covered $15,000 for the entire accident. My car was considered totalled. Farmers Insurance took care of the entire thing. All I had to do was drive to their office and sign a release for the vehicle. They never raised my rates and I never receive any additional bills. The best part was the way the entire accident was handled and the care we received. When Farmers says they get you back to where you were before the accident they are not kidding. I have full coverage and perhaps that's the difference.

$5000. For a parking lot accident?

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 23, 2006

What kind of car did you own? 5k is a large sum of money for a parking lot accident. Did the other party hit your car at full force? Did you see the damage to her car? Everyone wants to talk about how the Insurance Companies just take. How many Insurance companies are there and how many Insured's. Unfortunately your fellow Americans continue to file false insurance claims and cause the people who have legit ones to be looked at under a microscope. You should have filed under your own Insurance and had your company subrogate against Farmers if they didn't offer what you wanted.
