I was contacted by someone who proclaimed to be an HR supervisor for Fed Ex by phone approximately three weeks ago in reference to a job I hsd applied for on-line. Her name was Jessica. I called Jesseca back at the number she left on my voicemail within an hour or so after I had missed her call to follow up with her regarding possible employment opportunities. She didnt answer her phone or return my calls for the next two days before I finally gave up. Then, about a week later, I receieved another call from another person from Fed Ex who claimed to work for Jessica. I'm not sure but I think her name was ellie or ellen. I called her back the following day and got no answer, so I left a messega identifying myself as the person she had called the day before about employment possibilities at Fed Ex.

No return call that day; so I called back again the following day and finally got ahold of ellen. She was aloof and slightly rude in her msnnerism as she informed me that the application porcess had been closed in my case due to me not following up with HR in a timely manner. In response, I asked what is the allotted time frame to call back after being left a messege from her department? She was imitially evasive, as though she didnt want to answer the question; however, after repeating the question a few more times; reluctantly, she told me that if a prospect for employment at Fed Ex fails to call back within 48 hours the application process is terminated.

I informed her of the fact that I called Jessica, her boss, back the same day; in fact, several times, but got no answer. I also informed her of the fact that I left several messages each time I called as well. Then, I eluded to point out that I also called her back well within the allotted time frame as well; and got no response from her either. To which she curtly replied, " Well, I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do. You'll just have to re-apply after 30 days and go from there. I was left with the feeling that something of a more sinister nature had to do with the whole affair and beleive that I was definitely discriminated against somehow. the nAture of which, I honestly don't know...
