You have 1o days to remove your slanderous statement

AUTHOR: Ed Bales - FPE, Inc. Div: FPE/FPC - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 15, 2011

Jack:

You have 10 days to remove your slanderous statement or we will seek records in California to assertain who you are and IF you really are a BOP Case Manager we will notify the BOP Special Investigations Unit of your actions, especially since retired Senior Executive Service Level BOP Staff and DOJ officials are associated with me and my company.

After that, we will determine whether to file suit for specific damages against you and possibly your represented agency because you are representing the BOP here as a Case Manager. One of my staff will personally give your name and your statements to the Acting Director Tom Kane, unless a new BOP Director is appointed.

I expect an immediate retraction if you are indeed a BOP Case Manager. And just an FYI, these same SES staff members agree that most of the issues the BOP has are with SOME Case Managers and Counselors who DO NOT do their jobs either correctly or some of them don't do their jobs at all.

Bottom line, think wisely for the moment and retract these slanderous remarks NOW.

Federal Prison Consultants Are The Real Deal

AUTHOR: Remarkable - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 05, 2011

My experience with Federal Prison Consultants and Ed Bales has been exceptional.  Ed Bales and his team are top notch.  They operate in an arena that is very difficult to predict the outcome yet despite the difficulties Mr. Bales has delivered on all his promises to me.  Here is one example: I was entering a 6 year term into a Federal Prison Camp and Federal Prison Consultants was able to make my transition far better for me and my family.  They gave me invaluable education on pratical matters such as what and how I might be able to bring a few extra items in such as running shoes, a watch, sweats, underwear, socks and t-shirts. They were able to help me up in several other ways regarding my case, sentence and expected release date that I am not at liberty to discuss but are significant.  They gave me a crash course in how to deal with the unkown I was facing, which is if for certain the most uncertain time for anyone that has not done time.  Mr. Bales and his team is sincere, caring and compassionate.   They know this system better than anyone.  They can help make any situation you are facing far better.  They know how to get the process that the FBP requires pushed along and are well worth what they charge.

As for this situation, perhaps there are circumstances that are just not as they seem.  If you are involved with the Federal system then you already know that things are never what they seem and every case is different.  Mr. Bales has always under promissed and over delivered.  Federal Prison Consultants are the best team out there helping in this arena...they are the real deal and I highly recommend them.

I hired Federal Prison Consultants almost two years ago.   I have found them to be very
knowledgeable and very helpful and very passionate in helping people who are being
sentenced and have been in prison.   Their compassion also extends to the families of
inmates.

They always return calls and emails and they work very hard to keep on top of the case
they were retained.  They are with you from the beginning of the sentence and stay with
you until the time has come for release.

Federal Prison Consultants also are here to help with inmate matters that require
outside assistance and know what is needed and who to contact to get answers from
the Dept. of Federal Prisons.

I have found Mr. Bales to be honest with me and help me when my family member
needs his guidance.  It does help to have someone to talk to about the Prison system
and the answers may not be what we want to hear but what you will hear is, why
something is or is not possible and how to go about the best possible way to have a
case heard by the right officials so that the inmates best interests are being presented.

Sincerely, Pam B.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to recommend Mr. Ed Bales to anyone who might need
his services.   After serving my sentence in the Federal system, I was transferred to a halfway
house in Cleveland, Ohio.  The halfway house was a nightmare.   It was filthy and
disgusting.  Their claims of being a "reentry program" were not true at all.  After
completing all my requirements to be eligible to go on home confinement, I was told they
would get to my paperwork when they had time.   Time after time I was lied to and  giving
false information.   Even though I had done everything they had required of me and had no
incident reports in both Federal Prison and in the halfway house, they refused to complete
my paperwork to allow me to go home.   My husband and I then enlisted the help of Mr.
Bales.   After the first conversation with Mr. Bales, I finally felt relief that there was an
advocate for my situation.  He made the phone calls to the BOP and discovered that the
halfway house was holding up my paperwork.   He requested answers from the halfway
house but they were unwilling to answer him.   He then contacted the BOP and made them
aware of my situation.   He made many follow up calls, emails, and faxes and stayed on
top of the situation.   He kept my husband and I informed of the progress.   I was released 4
days later.  It was such a relief to finally be going home to my family.   I am confident that
had Mr. Bales not intervened, I would have not been released.   My only regret is that we
had not contacted him sooner.   If you find yourself or a family member in need of his
services, please take this recommendation into consideration.

Sincerely,

Bridget Varnes

That's Exactly What You Want Everyone to Think!

AUTHOR: D Stephens - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, June 24, 2011

Case Managers want to pretend they have all the knowledge and control when, in reality, they have little or none in the BOP prison enviornment.

My experience with case managers and unit managers is less than acceptable by any stretch of the word.  My fiance`  served 18 years in BOP and after the first 6 years, he finally realized what he had to do to make himself a better man with integrity and accountability.  His last 12 years were spent doing just that and counseling other men on how to do the same.  He was a model inmate for  many many years but when it came time for his placement into the halfway, nothing went as it should.  The case manager nor the unit manager made any overt efforts on his part.  Instead they botched the whole process.  First, the transfer was not even begun, then the halfway house papers got lost in the process, then the second half way house papers got processed.  Come to find out, the case manager was never even talking to the right person who was his probation officer regarding specifics that were needed in his particular case.  I felt like I was at a three ring circus  and I was the audience of one except I wasn't laughing.  I tried numerous times to reach the case manager since he was ignoring my fiance` at every turn.  The unit manager and the case manager were each putting it on the other.  Ultimately, I called the Region and got immediate action that same day.  I received a call from the case manager and directly after that, he talked to my fiance`.  This fiasco went on for months before it was ever ironed out, however, in the end, I was the one who obtained the information and passed it on to the case manager, afterwhich he managed to contact the correct person.

Therefore, the real reason you don't like Ed Bales is because he makes your life miserable and takes the control out of your hands!  More often than not, it takes an Ed Bales to get programs for federal inmates that they have coming to them by law.  BOP seems to makes it a practice not to amend their regulations to coincide with federal law.

Apparently, there is more in place than I realized to disuade the inmates from trying to go outside the prison to take advantage of the programs that case managers and unit managers so arbitrarily deny and procrastinate in recommending.  The only way for them to at least stand a better chance of getting them is through the highly- sought after services provided by Ed Bales who works diligently to do so.

Thank you,
D Stephens - Baton Rouge, LA

Beware

AUTHOR: Jack - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 04, 2010

I work in a Federal Prison as a case manager.  I see an ever increasing issue for snake oil salesmaen like Ed Bales.  Inmates come into the system and they have been given only public information from these companies.  Please be careful because they cannot offer what they say they can.  I laugh when I see what they sell becasue some of it will actually get you in trouble.  I Have no personal interest in this issue but see a growing number of white collar offenders who have been taken by these people, specifically Ed Bales and Joel Sickler. I just happened to come across this site while surfing the net and wanted to communicate that these people are selling only public information.  After their clients arrive at my prison, they realized they have been taken so don't be another victim.  The worst thing anyone can do, is listen to a former Federal BOP inmate. They are the most dangerous source of mis-information.  We actually cover this scam in Admission and Oriention and I am always amazed that the most savy, white collar inmates can be misled by these parasites. Just BEWARE!

I Stand Behind Federal Prison Consultants

AUTHOR: Steve Vincent - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 12, 2008

I'm a federal prison consultant and a former consultant for Mr. Bales and Federal Prison Consultants LLC., I worked as a subcontractor.

Let me start by saying that I stand behind Mr. Bales and Federal Prison Consultants LLC. During the time that I did consulting work for him I found that he was a man of honor and is totally dedicated to helping his clients who are facing incarceration. I know first hand that the clients I consulted with had nothing but high praise for Mr. Bales & his staff. If a member of my family were in need of his services I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his company.

Being a prison consultant myself I also know that a few clients will become very angry when things don't go their way and will lash out at the people they hired to help them. I know that Ed Bales feels the same heartache I do when our clients requests and pleas fall on deaf ears in the Courts, which so often they do. But that doesn't mean that we didn't do everything that we possibly could to help those individuals. For everyone that we can't help there is one that we can and that makes all of this worthwhile.

Mr. Bales and Federal Prison Consultants LLC. has a proven track record and is the leader in this industry. I hope that you will call Mr. Bales and speak to him about this complaint before you pass judgement.

#4 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Managing Director

AUTHOR: Ed Bales - Managing Director, FPC LLC - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 07, 2008

My name is Ed Bales and I am the Managing Director of Federal Prison Consultants LLC. I became aware today that someone had filed a complaint against my company and I wanted to address it.

First off this individual has never contacted me to the best of my knowledge. She claims he case goes back two years ago and that first her attorney did nothing for her and now Federal Prison Consultants did very little to help her cause.

I would need to know more information to know if this really is a former client or someone who is not legitimate. I would like them to contact me directly at 1-888-5-PRISON - Ext. 101. The number they have listed on the complaint is an old contact number for Federal Prison Consultants, Inc., a related organization which was run by a different owner. Nether-the-less, if that organization failed to complete the tasks at hand, this organization has taken on those clients pro bono (for free). I believe that we have a duty to help people and while we need funds to pay our consultants and experts, along with the expenses to run an operation like ours, I do usually try to work out the cost of our services with each individual client.

Each client usually speaks to me first for a free consultation and assessment and even if the client is referred to a Case Manager or other Consultant/Expert to handle their case, they always have access to me. All clients are aware of this before they retain our services.

We handle many hundreds of cases each year and we have always had a good record with the Better Business Bureau and have answered any complaints satisfactory for many, many years. To my knowledge we have had a handful of complaints over many years and it is usually because a client does not like the answer they receive from the agency we work within on the case at hand. We never make any promises or guarantees regarding outcomes and our fees are not refundable because the consultants are paid for their time to submit letters, reports, email, faxes, mailings, etc., along with their time working on the case and talking to clients.

When first received word from a client that engaged in our services a few days ago, she told me that she paid our company a fee and that she still owed us money and she was concerned that we were legitimate. I explained to her that I would investigate the complaint and found that it was filed only 3 days ago. I informed my client, who by the way, had submitted a motion to her sentencing judge that was prepared by her attorney and they used our supporting documentation for the proof and she was given what she asked for from the judge, all in part to our quick thinking and working outside normal business hours to get what she and her attorney wanted accomplished based on our assessment and expert strategy. So I said to my client, who I am going to send a copy of this rebuttal to, I think we have already proven ourselves by already being successful in the beginning, but, we still had more work to do, and she needed to know that we cannot promise or guarantee anything, but that we will do a good job.

When I first heard about this complaint and web site, I was upset because I go out of my way to make myself accessible to clients and I work 6 days a week until 10 PM answering client calls and I answer up to 10 PM Eastern Time, so that clients, or maybe not in this case, from the West Coast can call me at reasonable hours to make it easier on them. I also was outraged that such a complaint could be posted by this web site, because I knew that the circumstances reported were not true. Then I read through the web site and areas about suing them, etc., and after I thought about it, the web site makes sense. Its methods make sense and I registered as a member and for their CAP Program, because it was in the best interest for all parties.

I want resolve with this individual and I will work to resolve these issues, when she addresses me directly and explains the circumstances. There are limits, there are no refunds or guarantees, but I will see that if this is truly a legitimate complaint, it will be resolved in some fashion or we will do our very best to try to reasonably resolve this issue, even if this goes back to a company that I was not the owner.

Anyone retaining our services is offered both attorney and past client references, along with the documentation we provide on our web site of successful case documentation. We post on our web site neutral mediation organizations and none of them, or the Better Business Bureau was to my knowledge contacted by this complainant in this case. I would know, because it would have to be signed off by me.

I hope this addresses the concerns of the complainant and the general public. I hope the complainant gets in touch with me to resolve this. If not, then I do not believe it is a legitimate case.
