Federation of Engine Remanufacturers FER, Federation of Engine Re-Manufacturers manipulative, liers, false promises, total rip off Unikted Kingdom, Nationwide

This company offer a badge to UK based engine re-manufacturers in exchange for around 400 annual subscription costs from the garages. They advertise that the offer full support in the event of a problem and will back the customer up fully, unfortunately I haven't seen any of this.

I had a problem with one of the garages on their list were it took a very long time to have my engine rebuilt, and once I started having problems with it I was told to return it to the garage (were it stayed for 9 weeks) to let them rectify the problem. The FER told me on the phone that if the problems persisted they would enlist a private mechanic to do an independent inspection free of charge.

After the car was returned it was still in an utter state (worse than before the re-build), covered in oil and misfiring... I contacted the FER and they were suddenly uninterested and took back the offer of a mechanic to inspect the car telling me "we would never, and have never offered this service".

So basically they are just fobbing people of with promises of helping in the event of a dispute, when actually they are just advertising a load of crooked garages.
The case is now in the proceedings of court with the garage in mention.
