Like many business with short deadlines I turned to FedEx Office (Kinkos) to do some printer of tri-fold brochures for a sales trip - leaving on Sunday.  They had as much time as they said they needed - about 12 hours, to produce 400 tri-fold brochures.

What I received the next day was terrible quality work.  (see images)

Not one of the brochures was properly folded.  The image size was slightly reduced from the proofs, so that the contents of panels did not properly align on the page/panel.  The print quality was very poor - and I specifically asked if the proof I saw were going to be the final quality, and the agent said no - but they were - proof quality.  The quality was very bad given that they ended up charging $2.00 per brochure - $900 total.

When I picked them up and saw the quality, I asked the manager named Partick if he though these wre acceptable quality.  They were all misfolded, with bend edges - this was MY REPUTATION on the line.  His response was that I had to adjust my tone.  I was upset, but used no inappropriate language up to that point.  He offered no solution - no redo, no discount, no NOTHING, except his attitude.

Even if he offered to redo, I was out of time, and with no expectation that they would do any better at folding than they had the first time, why bother.  We redid them internally on an HP InkJet printer in less time and for fall less cost, with perfect results - a lesson learned, better to do it yourself now.

I said to go ahead and rape me and I would get out of his store.  I did not want to leave the crappy quality work with my company's name on it behind.

I have used Kinkos and FedEx Office in the past with fair results, but it is clear, they no longer care about quality - they just go through the motions.

I and my group of company have black listed FedEx Office - in all of our locations around the world (yes we are a small multi-national), and I am the CEO.  Wrong person to screw.

I expect FedEx corp to do nothing, since that is what we have come to expect on their logistics side as well.

While I am not attempting to influence other's use of their services, I am documenting my poor experience.

In today's world, a business is only as good as the last customer experience.  When a customer brings a problem to a manager and get's nothing but his attitude, it's over.

I have great experiences EVERY time with UPS Stores - god love them!

FedEx you have lost a customer for life!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Not Acceptable

AUTHOR: BeenThereDoneThat - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 09, 2013

I'm an ex-employee for Fedex Office. I know the store that I worked at, the customer was always right. I don't know the specifics of the order that you gave, ie: if the brochure was given to Fedex on some type of media, like a thumb drive, or if it was being copied from another brochure, etc. but the finished product was NOT acceptable. The manager should have first apologized, offer to do it over or just give you what they had already done and not charge you for it.

I think all the managers at most of these Fedex stores have big egos and too much empowerment!

I would definately take it a step further and go above his head to the district manager and let him know what's going on. They don't like to hear negative things, especially being that's it is about one of their managers.

GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

Good luck!
