What I saw from working there is that they add outrageous 'attorney fees and costs' to debt collections, foreclosure payoffs, and foreclosure reinstatements and that is probably why the original poster and the reply poster are being told they owe so much. It's quite possible that the amount of money you owe to whatever company is collecting on you is substantially less, and by substantially, I mean THOUSANDS of dollars less. Check your credit report as well, there may be something wrong where these companies are saying you owe money, referring it to FSK&S and then the law office is adding the outrageous fees. For example, there is a type of search FSK&S does to find the current mailing address of their debtors, this search costs them less than a dollar per debtor to run and FSK&S then charges the debtor $75.00 for the search that just cost the firm next to nothing. My best advice to you is to get a lawyer, you can't fight a law office without one because they will win every time, unfortunately. Beware of this law office, they will syphon more money from your pocket wherever they can, especially the foreclosure department.

fein such kahn and shepard have gotten a judgement against me for $18,000 (never owed that much to anyone!) and are threatening me with arrest...

unbelievable!  would love to join any class action suit there may be.
