FFE Driver Academy Assembly Line Approach to Eliminating Applicants Fort Worth Texas

The previous poster was correct about swearing, yelling, and slamming on dashboards. I am not sure this is a good idea if you are dealing with people who have never driven a large truck before. But it seems to be the way things are tolerated, esp, in the Backing Range. Maybe they'd never had such a good job before, were unhappy with not driving and having to teach, or maybe they were taking their marital problems to work and taking them out on the students. None of this was my fault, problem, or concern and seemed to detract from the good work that other trucking industry professionals act. (It reminded me of the way bad behavior by teachers or contractors was tolerated).

FFE Driver Academy applies an assembly line approach to elimating future applicants. This is why your driving cert is free. Please keep in mind you must be able to pass a DOT physical. Not being able to do that (which may be a simple as high blood pressure or as serious as sleep apnea and body mass index)  gets rid out of about half of the applicants during the first week.

Then comes skill and attitudes. If you are didn't take the trucking exam repeatedly before showing up, if you are not comfortable backing up a big truck, driving stick or never have...you will be eliminated in a day or so. Once again, the FFE driver academy folks will not keep you because of the time crunch.  By the end of training, only 1/3 of the class will remain on average.

I understood this was a gamble and it did not work for me. I also understood there would be people in the industry with attitudes. As trucking is still largely a male profession, the female instructors, office staff, and even nurse all seemed to have to prove themselves (especially if they were morbidly obese like the HR coordinator).
