Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center FBNRC This company send out notices and forms acting as though they are an official branch of the government. they chare $150 for something that costs $34, and they didn't even perform the service! Sacramento California

This company send out notices and forms acting as though they are an official branch of the government.  they are very clever in notifying the business owner, providing a form, with instructions for payment, and a deadline.  No where did it mention that it was a third party agency.  worse they charge 150 bucks to do something that costs only 34 dollars at the county recorder.  I stupidly sent in the form (crossing off another thing on my to do list), sent in the check, which they cashed, but they never did the renewal!  Now i see that they are indeed scammers.  This should be illegal.   

they also were very smart to ask for a check payment and not a credit card, as this could easily be disputed.

 I got another notice today from them saying in caps "IMPORTANT: FINAL NOTICE FOR FICTIOUS BUSINESS NAME RENEWAL APPLICATION"  .  It sounds pretty offical doesn't it.  Again, nowhere did it say that it was acting as a third party intermediary to help my business with the filing.  It looks official when in fact  they aren't, and they didn't even perform the service which i grossly overpaid. 

Stay away from this company!  Someone should really file a class action lawsuit.
