I received a letter with an enclosed check in the mail today, March 30, 2009 from a company called "Fidelity Financial Trust", listed at 7834 Almond Street, NF, Canada and telephone number 1-778-863-8577. The check was made out for $4,750.00 to me at my address, from Comerica Bank, address 7070 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48322. In the letter it told me that my name was drawn from the store data base of either Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, or Safeway, as part of a "Consumer Promotion Draw", and had an entry slip with a serial number, and the lucky numbers that I supposedly won with.

This check was said to be for the payment of the legal documentation of my winnings. The total winnings was claimed to be for $250,000.00 and it said that the check would be delivered to me by a courier company, either UPS or FedEx.

I was further instructed to call a claim agent named Harry Collins at 1 866 374 6202 for instructions on how to claim the winnings. I was instructed that I would need to use part of the total check amount enclosed to pa ya law firm that would take care of the notarization and legal process for the claim, and that the payment method was to be by Money Gram. The receiver for the law firm was given as George Williams, B&B Law Associates, 6809 8th Avenue, St. John, NF, Canada E5B 4T8

The letter was signed by J. Benson, Vice President of Finance

I am lucky and grateful that I was aware this most likely was a fraudulent letter, which I found out by googling the name Fidelity Financial Trust, and it led me to the RipoffReport website. This letter brought me to tears with the HOPE that it might possibly be legitimate because my family could REALLY use that kind of money right now. It is very upsetting to think that other people could be fooled by this. The letter lulled me into thinking it MIGHT be true because it didn't ask for money up front. I hope that these people will get caught and punished to the full extent of the law for preying on unsuspecting people who are in desperate need of money, especially at this time of our flagging economy.
