On March 1, 2007, Northwest Towing, Inc. towed my semi-tractor from North Bend, WA to the Kenworth dealership in Federal Way, WA and dropped it of at approximately 0730. About 3:00 PM, Arodi A. Acosta, Recovery Specialist for Fife Recovery Services, Inc. appeared at the Kenworth dealership driving a tow truck bearing the Name "Fife Service and Towing, Inc" on the door. After an argument and my unsuccessful attempt to get the local police to intervene, he stole my tractor.

The same man is the general manager of all three corporations and they also share the same president. They have at various times tried to claim (1) they never released custody of the tractor so they were just exercising their possessionary mechanic's lein -- even though Northwest clearly released it when they unhooked at a third party's (Kenworth) repair shop so that I could attempt to get it repaired not so kenworth could repairit for them and each of the three different towing companies are independent corporations: (2) they secured the tractor to ensure that they would be paid for Northwesst towing's bill;(3) that they did a private impound at the request of the Kenworth dealership even though Kenworth had authorized leaving the trqctor at their shop for repairs, which hadn't been completed when the tractor was stolen, the vehicle had beenon the premises less than 12 hours when fife stole, Fife paid my bill with Kenworth to get Kenworth to let them steal my tractor, Fife is NOT and was NOT the authorized impound towing company for the Kenworth deaqlership and finally the so-called impond authorization clearly bears the handwritten notation "for non-payment of towing bill" instead of the date and time of hte supposed abandonment of the tractor -- which is th eonly legal basis to have a vehicle impounded.

They have informed me of 3 differnet public auction dates but appearantly have never auctioned it because I have never received any notice of the sale.

Now they have turned it over to a collection agency in another attempt to coerce me into paying them to steal my tractor and store it while they try to extort money from me.

A Washington State Patrol Sgt. told me that "they stole your truck. They had abwolutely no authority or legal basis to tow and inpound your tractor." but the trooper he referred the cas eto refuses to acknowldge my faxes or voice mail messages.

In summary, Fife Service and Towing, Inc.; Fife Recovery Services, Inc. and Northwest Towing, Inc acting together under the same mutual management stole my semi-tractor with the cooperation of the Federal Way Kenworth dealrship, who by the way let Fife pay appreoximately $458.00 to take the tractor but told me I owed them over $600.00 less than an hour earlier.

Do NOT do business with any of hte 4 companies unless you are willing to risk loosing your vehicle and getting ripped off!

Donald 's banal attempt to cloud the real issues

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 08, 2008

Mr. Donald --- attempted to defraud a company who's been in existence for over 60 years. His truck was indeed towed at the request of the Washington State Patrol. The truck was towed at his request to the Kenworth dealer in Seattle during a winter weather event from snoqualmie pass. The Kenworth dealer under the premise of "good faith" from Mr. --- accepted the truck and issued a purchase order to us for the towing service. Subsequent to the truck being there, Mr. --- informed the Kenworth dealer that he had no intentions of paying for the towing or a repair bill. Kenworth contacted us and let it be known that they had no intention of paying the tow bill, because the owner of the truck refused to pay them for any services. Kenworth informed us of this fact and gave us permission to retrieve the truck, signed an authorization form, which allowed us to come on their property and remove said vehicle for non-payment of services rendered.

We informed Mr. --- of this fact and exchanged numerous faxes, letters and phone calls. We sent certified letters, which were accepted by a Ernistine R ---, and even received a letter of apology form Mr. --- on March 19, 2007. We did not defraud, mis-lead or attempt to gain possession of anything in an illegal manner as Mr. --- suggests. In fact, it is our belief that Mr. ---- attempted to avoid paying a reputable, 4th generation company, profession fees we were entitled to for services rendered and directed by this individual.

Mr. ---- never attempted to compensate us at any time, though we made numerous attempts to consumate payment. We also turned this issue over to the Washington State Patrol to investigate and were informed that Mr. ---- had ample opportunity to redeem his vehicle and pay the professionl towing fees liened against his property. We had a signed authorization to impound form from Kenworth and were authorized to secure vehicle untill our lien was paid. Mr. ----- also made no attempt to redeem his vehicle before it was auctioned, and still owes money for storage and towing.

I am surprised at the level of animosity this individual levies against our company when the last written correspondence we have on file is an apology from him. In any event, the issues related to this experience have been twisted by this individual to fit his perspective, and we hope he doesn't attempt to mislead and skip out of paying legitimate professional towing fees by honest, hardworking towing companies in the future.
