Fifth/Third bank has policies that literally steal money from you and you have NO control over it.

I was charged for something i never consented to pay in my account at that time, so i called the party (the same day the charge hit) that charged me and they assured me that within that same business day, they would reverse the money taken out and stop charging me entirely.

Well the next day the charge was reversed and fifth third charged me 37dollars as a "overdraft charge reversal fee" another $37 as a "general overdraft fee" and yet another $24 as the "daily overdraft fee".

I am a struggling college student and i cannot afford to have $98 including whatever money the third party has taken out plus $24 everyday that i cannot pay the money back, adding up to roughly $122 dollars before i get paid again.

So today, the first weekday after the crazy fees, i called the bank. The only thing they have offered me to do is to call the branch i opened the account at and have them fillout a "request for a fee reversal" that has to be mailed to ohio and there they can decide wether or not i can get my fees reversed.

I have been through this way too many times with Fifth Third and I am done. This bank needs to go down, and i want to help. No one should have to deal with this. DON'T GET AN ACCOUNT HERE!

I agree with Trace...

If you didn't consent to being charged, why did the company have your account information? Did you call the police because they stole your card or checkbook? Based on what you posted, it seems that you gave a company your debit card info or checking account info but didn't expect to be charged for something, which doesn't make sense.

And like Trace said, I've never heard of an overdraft reversal fee. Did they explain what exactly the fee was to you?

I also have accounts at Fifth Third and have not had problems with them at all. In fact, I've found them to be fair. The fees you're stating you received do not exist. There is no such thing as an "overdraft charge reversal fee" or a "general overdraft fee." They do have an "overdraft fee" or a "returned item fee." Fifth Third's fee amounts change depending on the amount of times you overdraw your account. For the first occurrence, it's a $25.00 fee per transaction. For occurrences between 2-4 the fee is $33.00 per transaction and for 5 or more overdrafts the fee is $37.00 per transaction. You've stated you've received fees of $37.00, which means you're overdrawn quite a bit and should know the policies of the bank. The second thing I would like to address is Fifth Third does not charge a daily fee of $24.00. The daily fee is actually $6.00 and if you were assessed $24.00 that means you were overdrawn for at least 4 days. $6.00/day at 4 days equals $24.00. I'm also a struggling college student and can not afford to just throw money away, that's why I keep a register of everything coming in and going out of my account. My advice to you would be to keep track of your checking account, write down all transactions, and quit blaming others because you are too immature to keep track of your money. If you can't keep an accurate register, perhaps you shouldn't have a bank account. I have yet to see anything in your post to show you have been ripped off. You have brought these fees onto yourself.
