Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

Theresa Franks and David Phillips have some explaining to do. It seems that their FAR,aka: Fine Art has constructed an entire business and internet site whose main priority is to destroy the reputation of an art gallery that did not purchase registrations with Fine Art

I thought they were in the business of registering art online, (which it turns out is a highly questionable practice) not heading up a 24 hour a day smear campaign against this gallery.

My experience began when I was looking to register one painting. Actually I was wondering what 'registering' a painting meant exactly.
When I arrived at the FAR site, it looked great. So much going on, but after a few minutes, it all seemed vague. I went onto the FAR Forum and this is where I begin my tale.

As a survivor of the civil rights movement in the early 60's I know hate speech when I hear it!
The number of views on each posting regarding the gallery being attacked went up into the tens of thousands.

As the owner of an internet site myself, I thought the numbers were suspiciosly high.
I went and researched where their "visits" were coming from. China, Phillipines, and other far away countries in huge numbers, literally in the hundreds of thousands. is a manufactured vitriolic public smear factory- if in fact, these are purchased visits.
Next question: Who writes the checks for this endeavor and why? is allowed to extort owners of large art collections for large sums of money because people in the art gallery business are incapable of fighting back. They have no clue how it is that thousands of people suddenly appear, calling them liars and cheats online. After years of building their businesses and the trust of their communities, all anyone sees when they google their name is a string of vitriolic hateful accusations, "LIARS! DALI FAKES! ART SACMS AT SEA!".
Of course Theresea Franks was smart enough to know where to start with her campaign, she chose Salvador Dali prints. Everyone in the art world knows the constant controversy that errupts whenever someone is heard to say "Hey I just bought some Dali's prints".
FAR goes on to condemn art auctions at sea. People have overpaid it seems for their items at an auction.
Anyone who goes to auctions, any auction-cars, art, antiques, we all know the theater of it is in how much someone is willing to go to get their hands on a thing.

FAR had millions of dollars (7 million to be exact) to gain from bullying this particular art gallery into retaining their services.
It seems that Fine Art Registry is GUILTY of the very thing that they are accusing others of doing...SCAMMING the public into thinking they are this "consumer advocacy" organization that wants to register art. Trouble is they never earned their place in the art world, they bought it with pay per clicks in China, the Phillipines and "other Countries"!

Wow, Theresa Franks and David Phillips, fans- who are you?
And if you have an issue, why not go through the existing legitimate channels?

Try asking a question at, on their forum.
When I tried I was banned 5 times. users come from these countries:
United States 40.8% China 26.2% Australia 13.6% Philippines & Other countries 18.4%

Not to change the subject but, this episode I have found myself in these past weeks-researching, reading and wondering has lead me to ask other questions as well.

In Conclusion:
In the end I come away with the disturbing revelation that news on the internet can easily be manufactured. I know this is also true of print media also. But just look at this organization,,( FAR ) who is accountable here?

Theresa Franks & Convicted Felon John C. Golfis' "Art Scam"

AUTHOR: anonymous - (USA)

There is an amazing video and transcript that details the business relationship between Fine Art Registry's CEO Theresa Franks, and that of felony-convicted rapist and art fraudster John C. Golfis. The video was made by an artist who fell victim to Theresa Franks' former business cohort. Any half-witted investigator, journalist or savvy consumer could have seen this and made their own judgement as to the trustworthiness of Theresa Franks and her ability to know right from wrong. And of course, the red flags that are now popping up all across the internet (and media) that have exposed Theresa Franks speak volumes. And it's obviously not going away for a long, long time. Unfortunately, for the artists who were scammed, the pain endures.

Be sure to check out the Dec. 10th Video here:

Fake Dali, Fake internet posts - They go hand in hand!

AUTHOR: Dixie - (United States of America)

What a load of bull!

You forgot to mention that one of the "Art Gallerys" that sued her for defamation LOST BIG TIME to the tune of about a  half a million dollars!   The jury clearly saw they were trying to defame her, and as evidenced above, are still at it.  They've appealed the big punch in the gut they got, but I'll bet my fake Dali on it they'll lose that one too.  Not everyone drinks the Koolaid, or takes the bribe.  Sad.

Theresa Franks, Fine Art Registry Investigated by Art Crime Research group

AUTHOR: Art Crime Research - (United States of America)

Theresa Franks and Fine Art Registry are themselves being investigated by the Association for Research into Crimes Against Art for dubious activity and forgery. See here:

A very fine piece of investigative journalism.

Some highlights: Fine Art Registry's Jason Palank claims he's a consultant and specialist for Christie's Auction House. But that was found to be false. Meanwhile, Fine Art Registry offers questionable works for sale on their site, while Theresa Franks rakes in the dough.

Since the publication of this article all across the web, Fine Art Registry has doctored, altered and removed incriminating pages from their server. But one is cached here.

Read the article to get the full scoop on the dubious world of Theresa Franks and Fine Art Registry.

I also agree with the article written. Trying to solve a problem was very difficult. The customer service was very rude and arrogant. I would not recommend this company to anyone ever. I consider them
unfair. After hours of frustration I was still unable to solve the problem. Very unsatisfied.

Interested in hearing more

AUTHOR: L. Y. - (United States of America)

Teddy - I am aware you wrote this article a couple of years ago but was interested in seeing if you had any further information regarding this matter. Theresa Franks and David Phillips have most certainly made themselves known in the art world and I think that it is quite odd that this is THE ONLY "bad" comment I can find on them. If you could be of any help it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
