Please heed my warning! These movers were absolute scam artists and should not be in business. From the get go we had trouble with them. We were scheduled to move on Friday 3/29/13, but were given a backup date of Sat 3/30 and were told we would receive a call 48hrs in advance as to what day they would come. That Wed 3/27 passed without a phone call, so the next day I called to see if they had any idea when they were coming. I was told the driver would call me that night. That night came and went, and here we were the morning of our move trying to figure out if they were even coming that day. I called back and was told that they would be there in an hour. After the movers got there they told us some of the things we had previously packed, were not packed properly and that they had to box them for us or they wouldn’t take them. My husband agreed because they had already started loading our stuff in the truck and we did not have any backup movers. After everything was loaded they handed my husband the paperwork. It stated that we owed them $700 to throw already packaged items into boxes ($25 per box and $30 for labor for each box).  The man then demanded that my husband pay him $2500 cash instead of the $1100 that was agreed upon for pickup. The man also tried to estimate that our belongings weighted 15,000 lbs instead of the 7800 lbs that we were originally quoted for, which was his reasoning for demanding more money. After arguing for some time my husband only paid him the $1100 which was previously agreed upon because by that time the office was closed. Which by the way, once our stuff was weighed actually only came out to 7780 lbs.

In our contract we had chosen to store our stuff in their warehouse for a month which was included in our price. Close to a month later on 4/22, when we finally had found a place to live my husband called and asked how long it would take to deliver our stuff. We were told that it would only take a couple days, so we told them we would call back once we signed our lease. Two days later we had signed the lease and called back with our new address. We were then told that our stuff was still out of state and that it would take 5 days to deliver which would have been Monday 4/29. We were upset but said that was fine and that the driver would call the day before. Monday came and we called back and were told that our stuff was still out of state and that it would take longer, but that we should have it around Friday.  Later in the week we were then called and told that their truck broke down and that they would call us to let us know when it would be delivered. My husband was upset because we had to move into our new place with no furniture, we were then told that per our contract they could take 14 days to deliver. Monday of the next week which was 5/6 we were told that our belongings would probably be delivered on Friday. They gave us the phone number to the driver and were told that he would give us a call when he could deliver.  Tuesday 5/7 we were called and told that he could deliver our stuff the next day. My husband took off of work and we stayed home all day waiting for the movers. They did not show up to deliver our belongings until 7 pm and didn’t finish until 11pm at night, which is unacceptable because we have a baby. The movers only showed up with 2 people which forced my husband to help them bring in items. The person in charge was also rude and told us that they were not taking any of our boxes upstairs, only our furniture, which left us with dozens of boxes stacked to the ceiling in our living room. Before they left we were looking through some of our belongings. I noticed that my jewelry armoire containing all my jewelry was missing and that our futon’s wooden frame was broken in half and ripping through the fabric. We reported this to the movers and were told that we could inspect his truck for my missing armoire and then were told to write it on our contract after it was not found.

The next day we called the moving company to report the missing jewelry and to report that we also received someone else’s steam cleaner. We were told that they didn’t know how it was missing but that maybe it got left at the warehouse. I was told that they would check into it and I would receive a call back. I called the next day which was Friday 5/10 and was told that they hadn’t had anyone look into it yet, and that I would receive a call back. I asked if the person I was speaking to was a manager and after being told that she was not, I asked to speak with one. The employee then told me to give her the weekend to look and that on Monday if she couldn’t sort it out I could speak to one and then was hung up on. After not being taken seriously when missing valuables my husband and I decided to make the drive down there to talk to someone in person.  We arrived there Monday afternoon to what looked like an abandoned warehouse. My husband went in and after 5 minutes came back out saying that the manager said he would look into it, but that it was his lunch time so he had to go. My husband also observed that somebody else’s stuff was piled in the middle of a room not even secured and then was told that he couldn’t be there for insurance purposes.

After unpacking and waiting to hear back from this company, it was found that we were also missing my violin, an antique mirror, a painting and 2 other wall hangings. I also had mentioned to them a couple different times by that point that we had received a steam cleaner that was not ours. Not once had they mentioned making arrangements to get it back or ask what it looked like or if it had a Lot # on it. I feel at this point that this company either stole my belongings or delivered them to someone else, however I do not feel that they make any attempts to get back misplaced items. In all including my jewelry, they have stolen $4000 from us and if you include the $700 they scammed for boxes it is closer to $5000. After making the trip to talk to the manager we have never heard from this company again. They are an absolute joke and do not care about their customers or any of their belongings. I tried to file a police report in Dallas, which was where we moved from, but was told by the police that since we willingly gave them our stuff it could not be counted as theft. That it is considered a civil matter now. We honestly have not known where to turn and are now currently consulting with a lawyer. Please do not be fooled by all the positive reviews on this company. That was the reason we chose them and I am sorry I made such a horrible mistake. It makes me sick to think of what was stolen from my family and I hope this review can protect others from the heartache of losing their belongings as well.
