Fingerhut - Axsys Reported my account as past due with negative standing two years after balance was paid in full Saint Cloud Minnesota

In March 2002 I took out a 2nd mortgage, and paid off/closed charge accounts. Fingerhut was sent a check by my lender for $578 BALANCE IN FULL. Fingerhut actually sent me a statement shortly after saying that I have $1 in available credit (paid .93 cents too much)I laughed because this was a company going BK, so why would I have an open credit line?!!

It is a month from being two years after balance was paid in full, I received a copy of my credit report from my banker today, and Fingerhut is showing as a $0 balance and account is in good standing. They are showing the report date as of 7/03. This account has been closed since 3/02. This is showing under revolving credit.

If I follow my credit report down to the DEROGATORY LISTINGS SECTION I can see Fingerhut reporting me as owing $93 open date on this of 8/02, saying that account is seriously past due and reported to an attorney / collectiion agency.

This is unbelievable, this account was paid in full two years ago, and they wait until months after that to claim I owe a balance, worst yet, today is the first I have ever heard of this. I HAVE NEVER-NOT EVEN ONCE RECEIVED ANY KIND OF NOTICE AFTER PAYING BALANCE IN FULL THAT I OWED EVEN A PENNY. THIS IS A BOGUS CLAIM, AND THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GET ITS FIGURES STRAIGHT, I CANNOT BELIEVE THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE.

I owe them nothing, because it was paid in full, and I have never heard otherwise.
