Fingerhut, Axsys National Bank Aka, Fingerhut Credit Advantage. All they wanted was thier money for dinnerware I never ordered! Saint Cloud Minnesota

In the fall of 2001, I received a letter form Fingerhut thanking me for the dinnerware set I had just purchased.

Since I had not ordered a dinnerware set, I called the company to find out what was up.

The person in thier customer service center was no help, and refused to give me the details on my account. At this point I requested a detailed accounting of my account, covering all the transactions for the two years prior to my call.

I disputed the account over the phone, but to no avail.

Shortly, I received a letter from them stating that I owed them $xxx.xx. Since this was clearly not what I had asked for, I made the request in writing.

In my request I again disputed the accounting. I also told them that until they complied with my request they were going to receive $12.50 a month until I made XX payments, and when I reached the final payment the account would closed.

I made those payments for three years.

Then I discovered that they weren't crediting my account with my payments.

So, I quit paying them.

All they had to do to get the full amount they were requesting was give me the detailed accointing, and prove they had charged me correctly.

They would not do this.

I still wonder which of thier employees was ripping people off.

It sure seems to me that someone, and not me, was running my account up.

Then Fingerhut, fraudulently sold my account to Midland Credit Management, telling them I had not made any payments since 2001.

When Midland Credit Management, finally called me I explaned all of this to them.
I also provided them with proof of all the payments I had made. They accepted these payments as ligit.

I thank them for that.

Midland Credit Management, agreed to settle the account for $xxx.xx.

I payed them the agreed upon amount.

As of this date both of the companies are saying I owe them the debt.

Fingerhut, should have complied in 2001.

If they had I would probably still be a customer, happily buying thier overpriced junk from China.
