I have move 12 times since 1991, so I know how long it should take to move my belongings. Firehouse Moving showed up 45 minutes late, but charge me for the 45 minutes. It took 3 men to move a 2 bedroom apartment (1250 sq. ft) 16 hours to move 9 miles. In Dec 2007 I moved from Houston (300 miles) from a 2nd floor apartment to The Colony, Tx on the 3 rd floor. It took less than 16 hr. to load the furniture in Houston , drive 300 miles and unload and asemble the furniture on the 3rd floor. I have 2 more pieces of furniture on this last move, than when I moved from Houston
Plus Firehouse left furniture at the old apartment, that should have been moved.
I had plainly marked the boxes, but that did not matter,they ended up in my garage unless I was watching and making sure that they put them where they were suppose to go. I am accustom to professional movers putting the boxes where they should go without me babysitting there everymove.
Fire House charge me $2072.02 to move 9 miles. I do not know what the movers were doing all this time,but it was not moving my furniture.
I called to speak with the owner Shane Schindler 3 times and he never botherered to return my calls. The guys who moved my furniture told him I had enough furniture for 2 houses and that is not true. A respectable business owner would have returned my call and come to comfirm to see if I have a legitimate complaint. That has not happened. The only call I received was from one of the guys who moved me, wanting to come by and pickup a toolbox that they left behind. I would not recommend Firehouse Moving unless you want to pay 2 Times as much for a more. The movers are not off duty firemen, atleast the ones that moved me weren't. The house would burn down before they could put out the fire at the speed these guys move. So do not let the name Firehouse Moving miss led you. There are other FireHouse Mover, I am only refering to the on in Terrell, Texas.
