My customer's car was hit and totaled out by someone insured by First Acceptance. The person at fault's claim was paid in appx 2 weeks. After 3 months my customer's claim still has not been paid even after filing a complaint with insurance commissioner's office.

The insurance commissioner's office told me that the adjuster had 60 days after receiving all of paperwork from me (the lienholder) and my customer to pay out the claim.

Basically an adjuster can jerk a claimant around for as long as he or she wants to, take their time settling a claim. Only have to pay for a rental from the day of the accident until a settlement has been offered (not accepted). And wait to send out the proper paperwork and they still have 60 days after that to get you a check before the insurance commissioner's office can step in and say that legally they have done anything wrong. All the while, you are out a vehicle and still liable for the payments on that car. I don't care how you look at it that's wrong.
