I have had the warranty going on 6 years, as it came with the house at closing, and I have just continued it. I have filed 4 claims over the past 5+ years, having only one get paid, and that was a major fight.

3 months ago, I filed a claim on a diswasher, they sent out an (please forgive) old man who was not capable of carrying in his tool box. He took the diswasher apart, sited there was water in it (the claim was because it did not drain...DUH!) and he stated he would come back later after I had emptied all the water out of it. He left it all in pieces all over my kitchen.

When he never called the rest of that day, I called FAHBP and they told me at that time, the claim was denied as the tech reported I had damaged the seal and that was causing it to leak. The problem is, it was never leaking; it wouldn't drain!

We messed with FAHBP for 3 days over the issue, and finally I called out a local repair man, who pointed out that the Dry Cycle button was stuck half pushed in, and this is what prevented it from draining. It was not then, nor is it now leaking.

I have faxed and e-mailed the receipt for $61.00 to Desiree at FAHBP 3 times each, and even left a voicemail just yesterday to her extension 2943 as she assured me I would be re-imbursed. Well, today, I am waiting as I write this for a contractor to come look at my washer that began leaking water on Wed.

I was contacted by the contractor on Thursday, who said they did not get the claim until after hours Wed. and that they understood it to be a priority claim, but the earliest appt. they had was today, Friday between 1 and 6 pm. This was the best window they could give me. I took off the afternoon, (I work for the Dept. of Defense, and we are quite busy these days as you can imagine. So it was difficult to get the time) and waited.

At 5:58 pm the technician called and said he was running behind and would call me in a few minutes to update me. It is now 9:08 pm, and no call. I called him and left a voicemessage on the cell phone he called me from at 8:00pm.

I called FAHBP at 8:30 to see what was up. The first young lady called and left a message for him on the number I provided her with, and then she referred me to a "claims specialist" who was nasty and rude and said they would try and look for someone else, it would probably be next week. I told her this was unsatisfactory as the warranty guarantees service within 48 hours, and we have long since passed that. She was so blatantly rude, I fully expect I will not hear from anyone at all, and I will have to hound them to get a service call arranged.

I thought perhaps the dishwasher incident was isolated, but obviously not. Sure hope there is a consumer law attorney or intern out there that would shut these clowns down!
Thanks!
