called 3 weeks ago because my a/c went out, they sent air-pro out on wednesday july 1st after 5 days, air-pro lied saying they sat in my driveway calling for an hour, when i got their phone call i called them back within 5 minutes, on my cell phone bill, no one would answer, called 1st american and they said that they would schedule me another appointment which was for tues July 7th, the guy said there was a burnt wire and the coils were dirty, and he would clean them for 160 and left without checking the a/c to see if it was working, I cleaned off the coils, which took all of 3-5 minutes.
it still was not blowing anything but warm air so i called 1st american again, they said that they would have the company come back with a supervisor, on friday july 10th the same guy (no supervisor) came back and said that the fan motor burnt out and that he had just used the last one that he had on the call before (uh huh) and he would be back saturday if he could get one and for sure tuesday,
today i called 1st american to inquire why i hadn't heard from the technician and they said that his report said that the fan motor burnt out because of lack of maintainence, and that the warranty didn't cover that, i told them, 1st the fan motor is working and 2 the problem is either a bad compressor or bad relay switch because the compressor tries to start but then stops again. they have another company coming to do a follow up for next Tuesday July 21st, it will be about 4 weeks without A/C in Texas 100 degree heat.
Also the first person I talked to today was very rude and when i asked to speak to a supervisor, she asked why? I had to give her a reason? needless to say that the supervisor was very helpful and courtious and we will see what happens next tuesday. I do have a question, if you have preventive maintainence performed regularry then why would you have a warranty insurance?
