Effective March 7, 2003 First Consumers National Bank is canceling all VISA and Master Charge card use.

I just got the notice from them, and am unable to get through on the telephone. I am sure everyone is experiencing the same problem.

What I am worried about is what address should I mail payment, if I haven't yet received my first statement.???? Should I send a payment to the PO Box 2210, or the PO Box 5280, or the 9300 SW Gemini Dr, Beverton, OR address?

I haven't received my first statement yet, but am sure they will send it late so I will have a late payment like I see on the complaints logged about this company.

I am so worried about this company and wish I didn't have the card now, but it is too late. Can someone that has had experience with them advise me about what to do. Help, please.

Should I send the payment registered with return receipt.?
Should I contact the government in the State of Oregon to see what is happening? Help anyone.

If you have comments please use the rebuttal below.

Any help about estimating the payment and amount due, etc and address to send it to would be a great help for those of you that have experienced problems. in the past.

What is happening with the government?

Credit Card Cancellation without explanation

AUTHOR: Beth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 01, 2004

I received a letter last year stating that my credit cards was canceled. I made several attemps to contact FCNB about this and I was unable to reach them. Last year I had a problem with FCNB about a payment. I sent a payment to them in plenty of time to post to my balance and when I received the next statement I was charged a late fee. I can't understand why my payment was held so many days before applying it to my account. I made several attempts to find out what the problem was without result. I think this company owes an explanation to all FCNB Visa/Master Card holders as to why credit cards were canceled. I also think they need a hotline for FCNB customers to able to talk to a representative to solve any and all problems. I can't understand how they can get away with this type of service.
