I too have been a victim of FCNB's late charges. Even when paying by phone they found a way to say my payment would be late because it would take them 2 business days to post to my account. It's amazing the funds were removed from my account before they even credited me.

Of course the late fee pushed me over my credit limit and I was assessed another fee. It cost me a small fortune to straighten out my account. Since that day I have always made my payment by phone at least a week in advance. IMAGINE my surprise when i opened my last statements (I have a mastercard, visa and speigel from the companny) my APR had risen to 35.5% and 29.9% from the rate of 22.2%. Of course calling the company did nothing because they do not have customer service.

I called the Better Business Bureau of Oregon and was informed that they had closed the service centers in Oregon. Visa and Mastercard had relocated to Georgia and Speigel to Long Island. Without any notice I'm sure everyones payments will be late and telephone payments were not being accepted as of June 25th.

I contacted the Attorney General of Oregon office. I knew I was in trouble when the clerk laughed when I told him the name of the company. Turns out there are about 500 complaints about this company. I wonder what it will take to get someone to take action against this company. If anyone knows how to get a class action suit started count me in.

Today I will be contacting the Attorney General of Georgia and New York since this is where they are conducting business. I encourage everyone to do the same
