I AM A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER OPERATOR SEVERELY IMPACTED BY THE DOWNTURN HERE IN THE PHOENIX, AZ, METRO AREA. I WAS REFERRED TO FIRST DATA BY MY BANK (ANOTHER RIP-OFF I FOUND OUT LATER). THEY SET ME UP, AND I WAS OPERATING FAT, DUMB AND HAPPY FOR ABOUT A YEAR WHEN ANOTHER COMPANY CONTACTED ME AND SAID I WAS PAYING WAY TOO MUCH!
THEY SAID UNDER OBAMA'S NEW PLAN THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO QUIT MY 2 YEAR CONTRACT WITH FIRST DATA, AS IT IS VERY UNFAIR. I HAVE ABOUT 1 YEAR LEFT ON THE CONTRACT, AND WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE TO SOMETHING LESS OF A RIP-OFF! THE OTHER COMPANY TOLD ME I SHOULD BE CHARGED ABOUT 3%--THIS WOULD SAVE ME ABOUT $1000 PER YEAR!
SO FAR, I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A REPLY ABOUT GETTING OUT OF THEIR CONTRACT (THEIR REPLY PERSON IS HELEN WAITE).
I AM HOPING THAT OTHERS LIKE ME ALL TALKING ABOUT THESE RIP-OFF DEALS WILL GET FIRST DATA TO OFFER A FAIR DEAL.

I think someone is selling you a "bill of goods."
I am not aware of "The messiah" doing anything for (non-minority owned) small business owners, especially anything to allow a small business to break business contracts.
Now if you were Government Motors, oooops General Motors, things are different. You can declare bankruptcy, work through the bankruptcy in a matter of DAYS, and have the government and the UAW as your co-owners.
I own 2 small businesses and I'm not aware of anything The Messiah and Congress have done to help a small business that is owned by a white man.
IF you are a minority owned business (be careful-you have to be the CORRECT minority) then you can get tax payer grants to help expand your business (as part of The Messiah's PORKULUS spending plan.)
Just recently it was showcased on our local news station how a small restaurant (owned by 2 women) in Buffalo received a grant of about $8000 to help defray their REMODELING COSTS.
Then there's the $7500 for "first time" home buyers and the $4500 "cash for clunkers" program.
Don't get me started on the "corporate compensation czar" The Messiah appointed.
