Hi, I'm not the one that owes First National Collection Bureau money but yet for the past 2 years they have been calling my house asking for a man by the name of Patrick. And for 2 years i have told them many many times that there is no person by that name that lives in my house nor do i know anyone with the name patrick and i being really nice about too. But they must not believe me because they call my house 10- 15 times in a day and i will pick up the phone and tell them sorry you have the wrong number then they tell me to stop lying and need to put this man on the phone other wise i will prosecuted for helping him hide from his debt. I don't think they can do that but i'm really not sure if they can or not but it has been hell for me every time the phone rings and it's them calling from a different number, I have asked till i was blue in the face to have my number taken off there call list and they tell me it takes 72 hours to be taken off there list...But they never take my number of any list because i get phone calls that start a 6am and they do not stop calling till 12:01am.. Can anyone please help me to stop the harassment!!! I need any help any one has to give. Thank You

How to stop collection agency harassment for a debt that is not yours:    Send the collection agency a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt (do NOT use regular mail) stating:

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, cease all communications with me about this alleged debt and stop all phone calls to [insert your phone #]. This is not my debt. Receipt of this letter is officially being time stamped via Certified Mail. I will pursue each subsequent phone call from your office with a $1,000 per incident penalty for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations.

If they keep calling, read the following statement to them: -- Be advised that this is not my debt and that this call is being recorded. If you do not consent to being recorded, you need to terminate this call. Continuation of this phone call after officially being informed that it is being recorded implies consent to be recorded. This recording will be used to pursue Fair Debt Collection Practice Act violations in a court of law.

1 called my cell a few years back looking for another person. I told them they had the wrong # they told me that they would remove my # from their computer . They did not and called again and left a message. The # they called from was on my caller ID so I scrolled down on my cell phone and added thier # to my block list. If you have that option use it your phone company can tell you more about this
