First Texas Homes AKA Gallery Custom Homes Steals earnest money Dallas Texas

We gave $2000 earnest money to hold a home. We were selling out current home and had to get that done in order to qualify for this new home. The agent at the First Texas Homes model home said if we did not qualify, no big deal, we get our money back.

We repeatedly tried to call and email, but never got ahold of hiim, nor were calls or emails returned. We had to physically go into the model unit for a chance to catch him there. We were lead to believe all was good, picked out colors, tile, carpet etc.

Then silence once again. No returned phoone calls or emails. We saw him again at the model unit and he said it was done! We went to go look at it and it was pretty much ready. We waited for our walk through, but then were informed the contract was cancelled !

We were told we could purchase at any First Texas community and the $2000 would apply ! This is the community we wanted to live in. This was the last home in that floor plan available.

It is really a rip off to treat people this way. I don't understand how any company can do business like this.
