Fitness Connection ripoff-- won't cancel even after you sent mail.. and call Houston Texas

I joined in March 2012 in Greenville, North  Carolina.. Was told if I had to relocate for emplyment I due to job relocation. I moveed to Richmond, Texas in November 2012 and during my trip back to North Carolina in Dec 12 I visited the Greenville facility to cancel membership. I was told to send a letter to Houston, Tx corporate and was given a PO BOX.. I mailed letter on Dec 28, 12 but they charged my account in Jan and Feb 2013.. I called their corporate and the receptionist said a manager would call me back.. They charged my Credit Card again in March and I called their corporate again in March and again the receptionist told me she will have a manager call me back.. Finall around April 11, 2013 I called the Greenville location and told them whats going on.. They said go to the nearest facility and the can help me.

Same day I went to the Sugarland, TX loaction and a young lady represented herself as the manager and tried to look up my account.. after about 15 min of waiting she comes back and told me to call corporate since she couldn't find my account because it was a North Carolina membership.. Fed up with this I called my Credit card company and they did a 3-way call with a Fitness Connection rep.. that rep stated to send in a letter, when he discovered I had already done so he said to call corporate or visit a loc al location, which I had done already.. He said if that didn't work I would have to visit the original branch where I signed up.. what.. I am in Texas already and did visit them in December to cancel but they told me to send in the letter..

Today Joanna called me to get a collection update for the last 3 months and where she had been sincce January she said she didn't receive any messages and she never received my letter.. funny thing is that she had a log of the 3-way call in April.. She still considers my account as active and wants me to pay or send in a certified letter now.. My card company has reimbursed me the last 3 months and blocked them from charging my card.. if they try to send my account to collections I will get an attorney involved.. Maybe someone should file a class action suit because it seems my experience is not the only one on this subject..
