Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I contacted a seller on fiverr and asked them if they could do the job they advertised.  They said yes so I paid them.  They then did not do the work but said the job was done.  I contacted fiverr but their feedback page is broken.  I left negative feedback for the seller but that's all I could do.

I've been using fiverr for a long time and have found some major problems with them.  For example a seller can completely ignore a payment and the buyer can't leave negative feedback for that.  Or the seller can accept the job, sit on it for weeks and then give it back to the buyer and again they can't leave feedback.  What?  Yes, you heard me:  sellers can ignore you for weeks and you can't complain.

Even if the seller does accept the job there is no way to encourage them to actually do the work and no way to dispute it.  After a seller says a job is done the buyer is given a box to click positive or negative feedback.  Where's the dispute button?  Your money is gone whether you're satisfied or not.

"But this seller has 99% feedback, must be good, right?"  Wrong:  sellers create a fake buyer account and buy from themselves and leave positive feedback.  Unlike eBay who check personal information and ban people using the same address or credit card, fiverr only requires an email to buy or sell so it only takes a second to create a fake account.  Since the feedback is just a percentage you can't see who gave positive feedback for what, so a seller only needs to create one account and buy a few times from themselves to give themselves a stellar feedback score.

There's no way to avoid this, fiverr sucks

A Social Site with a Small Financial Element

AUTHOR: inetgenius - (United States of America)

During my best times I was contracted for 150.00 an hr as a Technology Consultant so when I hear of people screaming for a pound of flesh over a 5 dollars dispute I am incredibly amazed. My understanding is that this company/Website is "less than" 7 months old (as of this writing 10/04/10).

I also understand that this company/Website is becoming very successful and "Clone" imitators are springing up by the dozens. I have no affiliation with this company and have no "axe to grind" with them or the complaining party. My primary interest is in searching out possible investment grade companies in their infancy and any reports of "SCAM" activity is of great interest and consern and an important element in my research.

To this end I focus on the reported complaint as it may affect the determination of future investors (venture capitalist, angel investors and such). The research I have done thus far indicates that "so far" there have been very few major complaints of this nature. It also appears that this companies business model does not lend itself to generating any significant amounts of money per individual to warrant any serious legal actions.

In conclusion I would say that this company/Website has two important obstacles to overcome: 1. The horde of "copy cat" sites that are springing up and 2. To establish and maintain and/or repair it's reputation and image as a reputable business.

Try filing a dispute...

AUTHOR: Edgeman - (U.S.A.)

You can file a dispute with a seller by clicking on the Customer Service link at the bottom of the Fiverr website. You can also click on the terms of service link and see the section on disputes. If you still can't find it, here's the link:

Have the order # for your gig handy and select "seller not responding" or "conflict with seller".

Fiverr requires sellers to submit proof of completed work through their internal email system. If there is no proof of completed work within the specified time frame, you have a legitimate case.

By the way, my 100% positive feedback is entirely from paying customers. No shill accounts needed.
