Fleetwood Trailers Defective Product and Poor Customer Service Riverside California

We purchased our Fleetwood Cheyenne trailer in 2006. This past spring the roof started to leak and we had to have it replaced after just two years. The warranty states that they will replace a roof up to five years, but after one year of owning the trailer they will not pay for shipping. We had to wait a total of four months, with several trips back and forth to the dealership. When speaking with Fleetwood customer service they guaranteed our roof would ship in three weeks. It took 7 1/2 weeks. The dealership is 45 minutes away and after driving out there to have the roof installed, Fleetwood had sent the wrong roof. We ended up waiting another 7 1/2 weeks. This all transpired during camping season. After writing a letter to Fleetwood, they addressed none of our concerns about our inconvenience of having to wait so long and making multiple trips. They wouldn't even meet us half way to pay the $500.00 shipping fee of the roof.

In fact we were told by customer service that we are lucky that Fleetwood paid for the shipping of the first roof because that too should have been our responsibility. How is it our responsibility to pay the shipping Fleetwood's mistake of sending the wrong roof. Apparently this defective roof problem is quite common and Fleetwood is well aware of it, hence the fact that the customer has to pay the expensive shipping fees. I wouldn't have thought when we purchased our trailer that we would have such a problem with Fleetwood.
