Flight Centre, Deceptive and dishonest business Somerset West Internet

In this report, I would like to warn all my fellow Americans and other tourists visiting South Africa with regards to the travel agency called Flight Centre. 

Last year I purchased a ticket for approximately $1300 (US dollars) from Flight Centre. The agent who sold me the ticket (Elizna Meyer) did not listen to my requests that I wished to fly Emirates or Qatar airlines. She chose to recommend South African Airways. The above link explains the disaster I experienced an how I was ripped off to the tune of $800. 

Angie Bridger is the customer representative of Flight Centre. After speaking with her today, it became clear to me that she was no longer interested in liasing with SAA to obtain my full refund. She lied about my wife not having contacted her on my behalf since Dec 24, 2014. My wife has evidence in the form of emails. I was informed that the case was closed and I would not be receiving any further refund. The one way flight on SAA from Cape Town to Johannesburg cost me $800!!! Such economy flights normally cost only a fraction of the price - about $150. The deceptive reptiles at Flight Centre and SAA connived with each other to refuse my refund.

Here's what you don't know about Flight Centre: the agents they hire are fired if they fail to make a sale. I was informed this is true by another travel agent whom I shall not name because I was told this in confidence. Flight Centre has no interest in representing their clients in disputes with the airlines. I was also informed that SAA was cutting back on their international flights and would focus solely on destinations in Africa. Wonder why? Well, now you can just guess - their service has gone from bad to worse and Flight Centre is still in the business of conning their clients into buying seats on SAA - the world's most unreliable airline which refuses to accept any responsibility for its gross incompetence and failure to live up to its end of the contract.

Be warned about Flight Centre: their customer service representatives are high pressure sales persons. It does not matter to them what your flying preferences are, nor do they heed your warnings about bad past experiences. I lost $800 because I was only refunded about $500.  You may end up losing a lot more if you visit Flight Centre or if you're brave enough to purchase a ticket on SAA.  There are reliable carriers from South Africa. For your convenience, I list them in order of reliability:

  Emirates Airlines

  Qatar Airlines

  Cathay Pacific

  British Airways

  Singapore Airlines

Whatever you do, avoid Flight Centre and stay away from SAA. They will blame you for their incompetence and breach of contract. You will not be accomodated in any way whatsoever because SAA has no concept of customer service and neither do their representative (Flight Centre).

I have given up on receiving my refund. Don't say you haven't been warned!
