FloorSmart Carpet c/o Carol Bove Poor Install... Failed to meet NJ Consumer Affair Obligation East Hanover New Jersey

I contracted FloorSmart to install laminate flooring in my home. Upon completion I immediately brought it to the company's attention that the tread depth of the stairs had been shortened by the method of installation performed. FloorSmart immediately dismissed my concerns and gave me a run-around to call the flooring manufacture, the distributor and so on. After months of being sent aimlessly I was left no other choice but to file a complaint with the New Jersey Dept. of Consumer Affairs.

Once the complaint was filed it took some time to present my case, having supplied countless pieces of supporting documentation along with pictures and a statement letter from the manufacture expressing the resulting issue was directly due to the installation method performed by the installers. Through the Consumer Affairs proceedings, FloorSmart c/o Carol Bove had agreed to a settlement directly with the state agency. [continued below]....

..... At several points FloorSmart (Carol Bove) either failed to appear on conference calls, hearings, or respond to direct contact by New Jersey Consumer Affairs arbitration team. As a result of FloorSmart or Carol Bove's complete and utter disregard, on December 9, 2016 the New Jersey Dept. of Consumer Affairs leaned in my favor awarding me full judgement amount I requested from FloorSmart.

Several months have since passed and to date there has been NO response from either Carol Bove, FloorSmart or any of its agents. It is my opinion that FloorSmart should be avoided at all/every cost. A retailer that does not stand behind its poorly installed products, that fails to meet its obligations with Consumer Affairs, hides from its ethical responsibility as a provider of consumer flooring products and installations should not be given the right to be in business. CONSUMER BEWARE WHEN CHOOSING THIS OUTFIT TO PROVIDE FLOORING SOLUTIONS IN YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS... better yet, just avoid them altogether!
