I am a student who has just finished school at everest university. I have been scamed by corinthian/everest they did absolutly nothing what they promised. I was told many things by different people from everest and everyone of them either doesn't know whats going on or is just lying to all the students.

I can write a book on just the screwed up actions of everest, but I'll give some examples of  my experience with everest I found out personally that everest's ambitions is soley personal finiancial gains. I attended there rhvac prgram last may and I'm now finished. I was told we were going to graduate with two years hands on training thats a lie that was pushed back into our faces later on.

we recieved very little lab/hands on training, and when the class asked why? the insructor told us that it was because students show up late and don't do the reading at home so he (the instructor) has to read the material to us word for word. several months of nothing but reading in class. I went to the program director and voiced my concern with no lab. I was told the school had tripled in size to quickly for the instructor to keep up, nothing was done about it. about 6 months into the school a state inspector came to look over the school and we were encouraged to ask questions, so I asked him about the schools promises and again I was told about the increase in size and that technicaly there was to many students for one teacher to handle the hands on.

By this time our instructor insured us that we would have the whole last month to do nothing but lab time. When the last month came we asked again? We were told things change and that we were not going to recieve any hands on training and that we had more reading to do.

I read over the students enrollment agreement and found the abritration clause that stated that I can recieve a copy of the abritration rules by written request so I did. The dean wanted to have a meeting with the instructor the program director and myself. In this meeting I had told the dean my side of the story and I was told he would look into it. I was then told that there was nothing to do and that the instructor and the program director said I was lying.

When I was told this, I told the dean about other matters that everest lied about and that I had recorded my instructor telling us he intensionally with held our hands on training for the last month and the tell us that powers above him prevented him from giving us anymore hands on just reading. The dean wanted a second meeting between the president, the dean and myself. At this meeting a told them both just about everything that had happened or that was said to me including the recording that the president had listened to but rejected any guilty actions by the instructor.

One of the best complaints I have read

AUTHOR: Curtis - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, May 24, 2010

I notice many people complain about trivial things when it comes to these skoolz, but the main problem is the massive amount of money being paid for the miniscule amount of material and skills learned.  As this person said, the tests are OPEN BOOK?!  What traditional college or university would EVER allow this?  None!  The material is basically at an early and general high-school level also.  Isn't college and university SUPPPOSED to be the next step above high-school?!  Going here was basically a step BACK for me.  The reason I didn't leave was because of the inflated promises of jobs and salaries that were supposedly coming my way after graduation(I bet one of those many employers looking for CDI grads would scoop me up....strangely I never did see any of them?) The only job they ever posted was for just above minimum wage, and part time at that, as a secretary(I guess that is their idea of a "business" job).  A far cry from the job managing mine workers for 60,000 dollars a year they spoke of early on in the program(Schyaa right....give me a break!)  The "modules" were basic common sense stuff that anyone can figure out on their own.  And the "core" classes were like the introduction section of a high-school text book drawn out for 2 weeks.  The 8 hour days were not 8 hours of full instruction or work and could have been compressed in 2 hours MAXIMUM. The fact that they think they can compare with traditional Colleges and Universities is another joke.  Please.  Employers and other schools are not fooled.  I have had no calls for any jobs in the business field even after putting on my resume that I would volunteer for no pay just to get experience.  I have no criminal record, have never been fired etc.  Other schools(TRADITIONAL ones) will not accept those bogus credits either, and RIGHTFULLY SO.  If you just want to be able to say that "I graduated", and that I "have a diploma" then go here.  It is easy, fast and takes little to no effort(and BTW 95% of you will get honours too!!!!! WOW!!!)  But if you want respect from employers, credits that transfer and a higher chance of getting a real job or career then I would think twice!  Trust me, I know, Ive been there.

consequences of everest wrong doing

AUTHOR: dave - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, April 10, 2010

Everest doesn't think that they did anything wrong but if you break down what they did or didn't do, the outcome looks alot different.

First by starting class 20-30 min late everyday is equal to 15 days of school, another 10 min late starting class after each break( two a day)  that's another 15 day's lost to lazyness. If you mark 15 school day's on the calander it's 6 weeks or a month and a half of school that we did absolutly nothing.

Next is 9 months of being read to at a 9th grade reading level just to take an open book test at the end of every week. This is amazing that everest is allowed to give this type of traning, and the real kicker is that they charged me $15,000+ interset. I could have spent the 9 months going some where else now I'm behind 9 months and $15,000 from where i was before school. If I was to get a job now I would make lower pay due to the lack of training by everest. The carrer services even brought in a contractor to talk to the class, telling us that entry level pays min pay untill you get time under neath you. That doesn't sound like the same sales pitch I heard before I started.

If I was to get a job that was in the field of Rhvac with the training I recieved by everest I would make no more than $10 or $11 and that was even said by the program director If you do the math of some one that is on there own paying normal living expenses making that littleof money would be hard enough, now you add school payment for about 6 to 10 years. Life is going to be tougher on everyone. Why not spend 9 months learning some thing that's not going to put a finicial berden on your family for years. Everest is allowed to charge alot of money to do very little.

The effects of a bad school doesn't stop with the student. When students are selecting a school, they are trying to better there family's way of living. If you pay to graduate from a school your putting your family's future in the trust of the school. Everst has shown very little care for the big picture of graduating students. Everest is very good at twisting words and situations to escape responsibility of thier lack of committment to teaching. In the end the real effects will show itself, going to school where you do nothing but read in class and take open book test only helps make the school look good on paper. Everest tells graduting students not to ask for to much when getting hired, I wounder if that's because it's easier to get ajob at 8-9-maybe 10 dollars an hour instead of a copettive wage you were promised before hand. That would make a job statistic look better in everest case. Promise students a great school then read to us for 9 months and collect $ 15,000 to do so and in the end gradusting students tun out basically no better than when they started $10 an hour or worse.
