FlyCell is a huge ripoff. I responded to a popup for free ringtone. It asked for my cellphone # so they can send me a code to get 10 free ringtones. I got the code, and it told me to enter it in their website. Suddenly without knowing anything I was subscribed to their service and got another text msg saying I'm paying $9.99 for the service. I was confused and send a text msg to unsubscribe. This all happened only in 5 minutes. So, I didn't even download any free ringtone from their website.

Then, my cellphone bill came and I noticed a $9.99 premium charge. I called my cellphone provider and they told me it's for FlyCell and I had to call the company directly. I called them and this stupid guy answered and he kept telling me that the charge was explicitly stated in the fine print on the ad. I looked in their website, in the Free Ringtone section, NO FINE PRINTS at all. Then, he said, well, go to our website, it's on the bottom where it says TERMS OF USE. WHO THE HECK WILL READ THE TERMS OF USE when it's not on the ad??

This is very tricky business. He then continued to lecture me about reading the fine prints and compare it to a mortgage offer letter. I was upset. How could he lectured me on something that totally different! I just told him that he's company is doing very tricky business, I'm disputing this charge with my cellphone carrier and I just hung up on him.

I guess it's just in time that my cellphone contract is up and I'm disconnecting my service. So, at least I'm not worry about FlyCell charging my bill every month. But this is definitely a lesson for me for NOT RESPONDING TO ANYTHING FREE FROM A POP-AD.
