I spoke with Cheryl King at Focus Receivables Management at 678-228-3443 on 10/06/08 and was told that my account from At & T would be paid in full if I made a partial pmt. of $416.00. I made the payment with my credit card over the phone on this day, but for some reason it did not go through. I called again on 10/09/08 and spoke with Todd Christy at 866-918-2469 ext. 1019 and made the payment again.

I was assured by both people that this was all I had to pay and that they had the authority to consider this account paid in full. I was told this would not go against my credit and the account would be closed after payment was received. The payment was suppose to be for $416.00 not $460.00, but I assumed that Cheryl misunderstood the amount I said I would pay back.

I was also told my both people on the day the payment was made that I would receive a letter in the mail within 7-14 days stating that the account was paid in full. I never received the letter so I called again on Nov. 11, 08 and asked Todd if I could get this letter sent to me, and he reassured me he was sending it out.

Again, I never received the letter so I called again on 12/09/08, and I was told the exact opposite of what I was originally told. I was told they could not send me the letter because the account was not considered paid in full, and it is up to A T & T to decide if they want to forgive the remaining balance. I left a msg. today for Paul Lenty, upper management, but have not heard back from him.

I then spoke with a manager name Steve , and he was unwilling to help and actually hung up on me. I don't have anything in writing to back me up, and I know I should have gotten this in writing beforehand. They LIED to me and tried to say I must have misunderstood. I know I did not misunderstand, they LIED and then covered it up!!! How do they live with themselves knowing they are scamming people!!
