The Ford motor company is in such dire straits that it is willingly sacrificing current customers to save itself. I own a Ford F-150 King Ranch "top of the line" vehicle and am embarrased by it.

There are so many problems with the vehicle and with each one the local area dealerships reply is "cannot duplicate". My trust in the vehicle being reliable and the company being honest is gone. I am certain that the universal approach by Ford Service is to deny problems exist until after warranties have expired. Ford is creating a better profit center by ignoring its customers needs - how long will that last...

The more research I do on the company the more I am aware that I MUST QUICKLY get rid of this vehicle. My loathing for this company is shared by so many other owners that it's frightning. The vast majority of late model Ford Vehicle owners don't have confidence in their vehicles and absolutely hate their dealerships and the company as a whole.

I'm absolutely amazed that there are not multiple class action suits currently in place against the Ford Motor Company - something must be wrong or consumer protection is gone.

My bottom line is that Ford should not be given monies in view of their incompetence as an operation, their significantly faulty products and purposeful unwillingness to stand behind their products and support the owners of their vehicles.

In the real world of competition, the good survive and the weak perish. I firmly believe that Ford should be allowed to evaporate, which is surely the course thay are on currently. Why provide bailout money so that they can continue their financial harm to vehicle owners - doesn't make sense.!

"Flight Recorder" for intermittant problems.

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 01, 2009

I too had an intermittant problem with my 1998 Ranger (6 cylinder) some years ago. I had an intermittant "fuel ping" that was quite strong when it occured and a lack of normal power.

After 2 visits to Doyle Ford in Kenmore, Doyle installed a black box "flight recorder" in my truck connected to the onboard vehicle computer and instructed me to "record" three instances of this severe fuel ping.

I drove the truck for five days and recorded three instances of severe fuel ping. I took the truck back to Doyle and they sent the "flight recorder" data to Ford. Withen HOURS Ford sent a fax to Doyle instructing them what parts to change and the problem was gone forever.

You might need a dealer to do something similar.

Good luck.

Im with you on this. Here's my story....well..at least some...

I have a Ranger XLT...allll decked out. I bought it in '03 and have babied it every single mile. The day after I bought it the brakes acted funky and I immediately took it to the dealer I bought it from. They said I just wasnt use to the anti-lock brakes. Then they said I had caused a "panic stop" reaction and the anti-lock brakes reacted blah blah blah.

Fast forward to .....every time it rains. I ran a stop light on several occasions because the brakes didnt work "right". By that I mean the brake pedal would set up hard and though it would slow the truck it wouldnt stop it.....then it would stop so hard and so fast that the tires would screech. >back to the dealer

They cant find anything and told me to "just keep driving it and see what happens" . At one point the "lead" mechanic told me I must be tapping the brake AND the gas pedal at the same time because I have a big foot. He said it sometimes happen and people dont realize it. WHAT!?!?! Now granted I dont have tiny feet......but certainly not abnormally large even for a woman. LOL

Fast forward a few months. Ive lost allllll trust in this vehicle....it's no longer "fun" to drive and I drive to and from work on the interstate daily.

Now I've "tagged" a couple other vehicles at work because the brakes dont grab when I need em to.

Ive taken this truck into the FORD dealer where I bought it a dozen times. They continue to tell me there is nothing wrong......but like Ive said....the brakes have failed me several times. The dealer told me "just drive it til it gets worse and see what happens". I was ticked. I was shocked that I could not even get them to LOOK further. Eventually they replaced the master cylinder because I kept on em. When that didnt solve the issue they threw their hands up in disgust and never looked further.

One day talking to my nephew who is a certified mechanic he suggested the vacuum boost/power boost (whatever its called) may be bad. I called the Ford dealer and suggested that......they laughed and asked me "where'd you hear that crap". OMG I was ticked. I called another repair shop and they agreed that from the sound of things, that COULD be the problem. They replaced that part and that seems to have ended the problem.

What irritated me was that the FORD Dealer wouldnt even listen.....they wouldnt consider that this could be a problem. Their entire solution was to "drive it til it gets worse or happens more often", they intimated that I didnt know how to use the anti lock brakes, that I had a big foot and wasnt using the brake right, that it wasnt happening as I said, that entire hysterical female thing, that I didnt know what I was talking about etc.

I eventually went so far as to call FORD and file a complaint against the dealer because of their inactivity. Bottom line......FORD doesnt care, they dont care what the dealers who represent them do or say. I'll never buy a FORD again and would never recommend them to anyone.....most especially this particular dealer.

Almost $3000 later, that particular problem seems to be solved.....no thanks to the FORD dealership

You are having an Intermittent problem

Do to lack of information it sounds like you problem is intermittent and it happens often for you that you think they should be able to diagnosis. The dealer techs do not have time to spent more than one hour one your car when they can see no malfunction. I had a complaint that if you drove the car for 5 hours the AC cut off but only when driving would you pay the technician his time to diagnosis it? I also had a customer who said that an LED on the door would blink once every two months at night (I never saw it).
You have to have something happen often to diagnosis it.

JOHN, UNFORTUNATELY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT WILL DO ALL IT CAN TO.......

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

PROTECT & PRESERVE FAILING COMPANIES LIKE FORD, GM, CHRYSLER, & OTHERS, and even protect companies who were DEFRAUDING THE SHAREHOLDERS like A.I.G., BEAR STEARNS, LEHMAN, COUNTRYWIDE, & many others!!!

Keep in mind, when the government steps in to 'save' these companies it is using TAXPAYER'S money, correct? WHO ARE THE TAXPAYERS? Answer: The American PEOPLE!!!!

'Google' this- FIVE FORMER INSURANCE EXECS FOUND GUILTY OF FRAUD, and look at the date, & then read it! Guess what? The government 'BAILED-OUT' A.I.G. with well over $75 BILLION of TAXPAYER'S MONEY, correct? I believe it's closer to $150 BILLION now!

Look at GM, Ford, & Chrysler! All 3 are collapsing, aren't they? GM & Chrysler are in the worst shape, but the government stepped in with TAXPAYER'S MONEY, didn't they? Soon, Ford will have its hand out for money too, wouldn't you agree?

Even Toyota builds DEFECTIVE VEHICLES!!!

'Google' this- TOYOTA RECALLS 1.3 MILLION CARS WORLDWIDE, and read it!

'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website about Toyota Engine Problems and read all the complaints! Make sure to click on 'Airbags' when you are there and read those complaints too!!!!!

I agree with you that Ford's quality is sub-par! They seem to be like most of the others and build vehicles that last until the warranty is up. After that, these vehicles are ready for the JUNK-YARD in most cases!

It's a reflection of the EXECUTIVES who run these companies!!!! They have only one goal, in my opinion. That's to make as much money, in the short-run, as possible!

SUGGESTION: Get a Honda. They seem to be about the best in quality. The big-3 seems to operate just like the U.S. government!

Make sure to go to www.9news.com and type in NOTTINGHAM, and click on it. Then click where it says- 9NEWS (32), and go to the March 20th story entitled- 'New Warrant Served in Connection to Prostitution Ring' and read it!

This PROSTITUTION RING in Denver catered to QUOTE: 'prominent clients including judges, lawyers, businessmen, athletes, and politicians.' (end quote)

Now you can see what this country is all about, and what these so-called 'leaders' are doing, huh?

SPREAD THIS ALL OVER THE WORLDWIDE WEB!

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
