I purchased a Ford Mustang in June 2012 from a local Ford dealer. Not only do Ford vehicles not hold their value and I in turn got screwed on my car, FORD CREDIT is the WORST lender I could've gone with.

A few months after I purchased my vehicle, I was laid off from my job and really put in a bind. Ford Credit was not only not willing to work with me but they were so rude and mean throughout the whole process. They moved a few payments to the end of the loan (not telling me how badly this affected the loan/interest/etc and all the charges I incurred) but that's all they would do for me. They wouldn't accept partial payments, they harassed me day and night, threatened to take my vehicle about every other week, everything. I'm positive I got about 10 calls a day and had to repeat myself each time to each DIFFERENT rep. They don't keep up their records, they don't care about you and they for sure don't want to help you. Their "programs" and their "deferring payments" etc etc is all a scam to actually get more money out of you.

After I found work it was very difficult for me to catch back up as there isn't all that much opportunity in my city - and I wasn't making the money I made when I bought the car. I was paying all that I could but it was never good enough. Ford Credit made my life hell because of it too. I've developed panic attacks now because of the experience I had with this car. I had so much interest and so many fees tacked on that 2 years into the loan I still owed $29,800. After 2 years. Tried refinancing, they made it impossible. My credit had tanked so bad because of the car refinancing with someone else was impossible.

2 years and 3 reposession notices later, I finally luck out and am able to get rid of the car. In a very generous effort to help me and help my relationship with my husband (we were going crazy because of this car) my parents offered me up the difference on the loan, if I would or could sell my car.

I got discouraged after taking it to a Honda dealer nearby and them offering up $18,000 for it when I owed so much (again FORDS DON'T HOLD VALUE)...but someone suggested I take the car to Carmax. The very next week I took the car to Carmax and they offered up $21,000 for it. I thought this was much better, got the difference from my folks and sold it to them on 7/11. But it isn't over. I guess since they haven't received the check from Carmax yet, the car is still showing as not paid. All week with the calls. I got a voicemail from an actual person just yesterday talking about repossessing the vehicle. I laughed at it but decided I'd call back and I got her voicemail -- and probably the 30th time this week I expressed to them that I SOLD THE CAR AND TO STOP CALLING ME AND CONTACT CARMAX.

Ford Motor Credit is the worst lender you could possibly go with. Don't do it.

I realize I spoke out of anger on this. But the whole situation really is a total nightmare. But I was wrong and shouldn't have filed this.

Ford Credit was not only not willing to work with me but they were so rude and mean throughout the whole process.

- Translation: They wouldn't do what I wanted them to do.

That's right they defered the payments and DID NOT reposess your car.  Because contrary to what you probably think, they actually had the legal right to reposess your car as soon as you were deliqnquent, they don't have to wait any minimum length of time.

They wouldn't accept partial payments, they harassed me day and night, threatened to take my vehicle about every other week, everything.   I'm positive I got about 10 calls a day and had to repeat myself each time to each DIFFERENT rep.

- Day and night..every other weeek...everything?  The only thing POSITIVE here is that you are one huge drama queen.  Interesting how in 2 years for them threatning reposession every other week you only got 3 reposession notices.

The very next week I took the car to Carmax and they offered up $21,000 for it.

- Umm..So even with all of the late fees and additional interest, this car that doesn't hold it's value was only upside down by about $9,000.   Wow..just imagine if you actually paid your loan ON-TIME, I wonder how much "value" you would have lost.  Too bad you didn't talk to your parents earlier about helping you by spending a few hundred dollars to keep you current(or get you caught up) than the $9,000 you stuck them for.  Not only would you have saved them quite a bit of money, your credit wouldn't be in the tank right now.

Oh and why did I say that.  Well that would have been the same effect as if Ford accepted Partial Payments.  After all if you paid what you could and had your parents come up with the rest you would have been current.  Then intead of making up the difference with Ford you just have to pay your parents back.  Unless you had NO intention of making it up then instead of stiffing Ford you would have stiffed your parents.

FYI there isn't really a single car that "holds" it's value.

I expressed to them that I SOLD THE CAR AND TO STOP CALLING ME AND CONTACT CARMAX.

- Until Carmax sends them the check..YOU are still 100% resposible for the loan.  Perhaps YOU should have used some of those 30 calls and called Carmax.  You sold it about 5-6 business days ago.  So when you talk to Carmax don't be surprised if they tell you it can take 10-14 business days(or more) to pay off the car.  Guess Carmax failed to tell you that little bit didn't they. Oh and I hope that Carmax got the real payoff from Ford and not some number you threw out.  Because if you were short..Carmax is going to come after you..oh and again don't be surprised if they don't start calling you 10 times a day every day and night.

Oh and no I do not work for Ford or any other lender.
