This company, Fort Hood National Bank is unfair and unwilling to help solve the real issue. I did ask for a stop payment from them for a company but it turned out ugly in the end.

The stop payment was requested due to a refinance going on and I wanted to end the automatic payments. I said ok. Then I tried to make a direct payment to the company using my banking information on the phone. I did not know that when you do a stop payment with them, it would stop any payments to the company.

I did not find out that the payment had not gone through until about a week and a half later when the company called me to see why my payment had not been made. Well, I called the bank and said my payment should have posted. They said the stop payment stopped all payments to them. I said no one told me that. I just wanted to end the automatic payments, but if I called the company, I should not see why my payment could not go through especially if it is for a different amount than the stop payment amount!!!

I just needed a letter from them stating that I tried to make the payment and that there was a miscommunication about how their new stop payments work so I could get the late fee from my credit report removed. I did attempt the payment but because of their system, it did not go through. They said they could remove the stop payment fee because of what happened but could not help with the letter.

The representative did call the mortgage company to try to explain but told them that they could not do a letter to them. I do not see why if you can call them, why you could not do a letter also. You explained over the phone, so that is like writing a letter.

I later went into the bank and spoke with someone there. She said they were going to research it and the person who I had spoken with on the phone also told her I had requested a letter. They said someone would call me later that evening telling me when I would get the letter. She later called and said they still could not write a letter because it was not the bank's fault. I still say it is because if they had explained that it was a stop payment to end all payments to the company, I would not have tried to pay them over the phone with my bank information and would have did it through the mail or moneygram.

I told them that I had stop payments in the past and it only stopped the payment for that exact amount. They told me, after the fact, that they do not do that anymore. All their stop payments stop all corresponding payments to the company. I said that was unfair especially if that is not what I wanted or if I am trying to pay them with my account. If you can not use your account and money they way you want, then what good is it. This is really unfair and no one is doing anything to solve the problem with my credit report due to the facts not being correct!!
